GRUPPO PIAGGIO : DOPPIO PODIO PER APRILIA RACING IN AUSTRIA

Milano , 21 settembre 2026 – Il fine settimana in Austria si è chiuso con un altro podio per i piloti ufficiali Aprilia Racing, scuderia del Gruppo Piaggio (PIA.MI) , dopo quello conquistato nella gara sprint.
Scattato dalla pole position, Jorge Martín è stato autore di un’ottima partenza, mantenendo la prima posizione al via. Il pilota spagnolo ha poi portato la sua RS -GP26 al secondo posto sotto la bandiera a scacchi. Grazie alla vittoria conquistata sabato ne lla gara sprint, Martín aveva recuperato la leadership del mondiale e, al termine del GP d’Austria, resta al comando della classifica con 286 punti.
Anche Marco Bezzecchi ha fatto una partenza straordinaria dalla quarta casella, portandosi subito in seconda posizione. Il pilota italiano ha poi chiuso al terzo posto, completando così un weekend sul podio dopo il terzo posto ottenuto nella gara sprint.
Quarto al traguardo Ai Ogura, del SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team, al rientro dall’infortunio, che ha replicato il risultato della gara sprint. Aprilia porta così tre RS -GP26 nelle prime quattro posizioni.
Aprilia Racing chiude il weekend in Austria con il primo doppio podio della propria storia sul tracciato di Spielberg, sia nella gara sprint sia nella gara lunga, e con un altro risultato significativo: le quattro pole position consecutive conquistate a Silvers tone, Aragón, Misano e Austria, un traguardo mai raggiunto prima dalla Casa di Noale.
JORGE MARTIN
"È stato un grande weekend. Ritrovare questo livello di velocità e avere una buona condizione fisica dopo i dubbi che avevo da Misano mi rende molto felice. Volevo lottare per la vittoria, ma era molto difficile lottare con Pedro, ci ho provato fino alla fine".
MARCO BEZZECCHI
"Abbiamo fatto veramente il massimo e sono contento di come sono migliorato nell'arco del weekend. Venerdì la mia prestazione non era male, ma non ero comparabile con i primi. Sabato siamo riusciti a rimediare, anche con un po' di fortuna. In gara, invece, secondo me è stato veramente un bel risultato. Alla fine, mi sono avvicinato parecchio a Jorge, ho perso forse la possibilità di provare il sorpasso con il piccolo errore alla curva 1, però ho comunque dato il massimo".

“Complimenti a Pedro e a KTM per la prima vittoria, so che bella soddisfazione sia riuscire a ottenerla in casa. È stato un ottimo weekend per noi, dove Marco ha mostrato crescita e consistenza e Jorge ci ha fatto vedere, in particolare sabato, una guida d a vero Campione del Mondo. La strada è ancora lunga e gli avversari sono molto forti, in particolare nella prossima tappa a Motegi, per cui è bene mettersi subito al lavoro. Domani abbiamo un importante test con le Pirelli sulla 850cc e dobbiamo anche lavo rare per essere competitivi su una pista ostica".

PIAGGIO GROUP: DOUBLE PODIUM FOR APRILIA RACING IN AUSTRIA

Ai Ogura’s Aprilia finished fourth (SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team)
Milan, 21 September 2026 – The weekend in Austria ended with another podium for the Aprilia Racing factory riders , the Piaggio Group’s (PIA.MI) racing team, after the one they earned in the sprint race.
Jorge Martín had an outstanding start from pole position, maintaining first place when the red lights went out. The Spanish rider then rode his RS -GP26 to a second -place finish when the chequered flag came out. With his win in the sprint race on Saturday, Martín had taken back the championship lead, and at the end of the Austrian GP, he remains at the top of the standings with 286 points.
Marco Bezzecchi also had an extraordinary start from the fourth spot on the grid, moving into second place straight away. The Italian rider then finished third, finishing up a weekend of podium placements after taking third in the sprint race.
Finishing fourth was Ai Ogura, with the SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team, back after his injury to repeat the result of the sprint race. This gave Aprilia three RS -GP26 machines in the top four positions.
Aprilia Racing closes out the weekend in Austria with their first double podium ever on the Spielberg track, both in the sprint race and in the long race, as well as another significant result – four consecutive pole positions taken in Silverstone, Aragón, Misano, and Austria – a milestone which the Noale -based manufacturer had never before.

"It was a great weekend. Getting back to this level of speed and having good fitness after the doubts in Misano make me extremely happy. I wanted to fight for the win, but battling with Pedro was quite difficult, although I tried all the way to the end."
MARCO BEZZECCHI
"We truly achieved the maximum, and I’m pleased with the way I improved throughout the weekend. My performance wasn’t bad on Friday, but I wasn’t on par with the leaders. Saturday, we managed to remediate, even with a bit of luck. In the race, on the other hand, I think it was truly a good result. At the end, I got very close to Jorge. I may have missed the opportunity to try and overtake on turn 1 because of a small mistake, but in any case, I gave it one hundred percent."

“Congratulations to Pedro and KTM for their first win. I know how satisfying it is to achieve that in a home race. It was a great weekend for us, where Marco demonstrated growth and consistency, and Jorge showed us – especially on Saturday – a ride truly w orthy of a World Champion. The road is still long, and our rivals are extremely strong, especially for the next round in Motegi, so we had better get to work straight away. We have an important test tomorrow with the Pirelli tyres on the 850cc and we also need to work to be competitive on a tough track."
