VietNam Holding Limited ('VNH' or the 'Company'), the London-listed investment company focused on Vietnamese equities, is pleased to announce the publication of a new white paper by Dynam Capital, the Fund Manager of VNH, examining Vietnam's banking sector and its role in financing the country's next phase of economic development.
Entitled "Vietnam's Banking Sector", the paper explores the structural and cyclical opportunities facing Vietnamese banks as the country continues to modernise, urbanise and digitalise, while pursuing ambitious economic growth and infrastructure development. The paper highlights how Vietnam's banking investment opportunity is evolving. While financial inclusion and credit penetration remain important long-term drivers, the sector is increasingly characterised by deeper digital financial ecosystems, growing demand for more sophisticated financial products and the need for banks to fund rapid credit expansion sustainably.
Banking remains a key focus for Dynam Capital and VNH. As at 31 August 2026, banks represented almost 40% of Dynam Capital's public equity portfolios, with five banks among its ten largest holdings. The Manager's approach focuses on identifying institutions with durable funding franchises, sustainable returns on equity, adequate capital, disciplined growth, diversified income streams, strong digital ecosystems and sound governance.
The white paper also sets out how Dynam Capital tests its investment thesis across the banking sector through fundamental research, financial modelling and regular engagement with companies, with particular emphasis on growth capacity, funding strength and earnings sustainability.
Vietnam's next phase of growth should create substantial opportunities for the banking sector, but tighter funding conditions are likely to widen the gap between winners and losers - making disciplined stock selection increasingly important.
