Wetteri’s change negotiations have concluded – new organization to start on 1 September 2026
Wetteri has completed the change negotiations under the Finnish Act on Co-operation within Undertakings, which began on 13 July 2026.
As a result of the negotiations, the company will reduce its workforce by a total of 79 person-years and make 39 substantial changes to job descriptions. In addition, up to 20 salaried employees of Wetteri Auto Oy may be subject to temporary layoffs of up to 90 days per person.
The negotiations also resulted in a decision to discontinue the operations of Wetteri’s subsidiary Lahden Rekkapaja Oy and to close the Iisalmi location.
The personnel reductions, reorganization and optimization of the network are part of measures aimed at promoting the company’s profitable growth and improving operational efficiency. The estimated annual savings from the adjustment measures amount to approximately EUR 7.3 million, including personnel cost savings and other savings measures aimed at improving profitability.
“We have concluded the change negotiation process in a constructive spirit together with employee representatives. Wetteri’s new organization is designed to enhance the company’s operational efficiency, improve local competitiveness and build profitable growth. Our new organization will begin working towards these objectives as of 1 September 2026,” says Wetteri CEO Aarne Simula.
The negotiations covered the personnel of Wetteri Plc and the Wetteri Group subsidiaries Wetteri Auto Oy and Wetteri Yhtiöt Oy, as well as the entire personnel of Lahden Rekkapaja Oy. The change negotiations did not concern the personnel of Suvanto Trucks Oy. Wetteri Group employs approximately 760 people.
