Portfolio Company Update
Vesari Inc. Appoints Leading Satellite Communications Researcher
Professor Beatriz Soret to its Science Advisory Board
Tekcapital plc (AIM: TEK), the UK intellectual property investment group focused on creating valuable products that can improve people's lives, is pleased to provide an update for Vesari Inc. ("Vesari") which is developing technology for a fully integrated, behind-the-meter, geothermal-powered hyperscale AI compute campus.
The Company is pleased to announce that Vesari has appointed Professor Beatriz Soret, one of the world's leading authorities on satellite communications and low-Earth-orbit ("LEO") networking, to its Science Advisory Board, effective 1 September 2026.
Professor Soret is a recognized authority on satellite communications with more than twenty years of experience spanning academia and industry. Professor Soret's current research centers on LEO satellite networking and inter-satellite links, including constellation design, distributed routing, and satellite edge computing, sustained through a long-standing collaboration with the European Space Agency under the ESA SatNex framework. Her early work on the fundamental tradeoff among throughput, reliability, and delay anticipated the ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC) requirements that became a defining driver of 5G design. She has authored more than 100 publications, holds 17 patents, one of which is partly incorporated into the 3GPP LTE V2X Release 14 specification. Her honors include Spain's Beatriz Galindo Senior Grant, the IEEE Communications Society WICE Early Achievement Award, and a Best Paper Award at IEEE Globecom 2013.
Professor Soret holds a Ph.D. in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Málaga, where she is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communications Engineering. She was previously an Associate Professor at Aalborg University, a Research Specialist at Nokia Bell Labs Denmark, where she contributed to the 3GPP working groups that shaped 4G and 5G standardisation, and an R&D Communications Engineer at GomSpace, where she contributed to the design and development of a satellite constellation for communications.
Clifford M. Gross, Ph.D., Executive Chairman of Tekcapital, commented:
"Professor Soret is among the world's leading authorities on how data moves within and between satellites in low Earth orbit. Her work on LEO constellation design and inter-satellite links speaks directly to the space-based data-transmission layer of Vesari's platform, and her standardisation experience across 4G and 5G gives her a rare understanding of how a technology moves from theory to global deployment at scale. We are deeply honored to add her to Vesari's growing Science Advisory Board."
Professor Beatriz Soret added:
"Laser-based inter-satellite links are changing what is possible for moving large volumes of data, and pairing that capability with clean, firm computing on the ground is a compelling application of the science. I look forward to contributing to the networking architecture that will connect Vesari's orbital data-transmission layer to its compute campus."
Vesari Science Advisory Board
Vesari is assembling a Science Advisory Board (SAB) of distinguished scientists with deep expertise across the three technical pillars of its platform: geothermal energy; hyperscale power utilization and heat management; and low-Earth-orbit satellite laser data transmission. Together, these disciplines underpin Vesari's vision of clean, firm, and highly efficient, geothermal-powered, behind-the-meter computing infrastructure for the AI era. Professor Soret joins the SAB alongside geothermal scientist Dr. Joseph N. Moore, whose appointment was announced on 17 July 2026 and satellite communications expert Dr. Barry G. Evans, whose appointment was announced on 28 July 2026. Vesari's SAB is expected to provide insight and inform best practices for the development of its newly designed geothermal powered hyperscaler.
