TV’S WILD WOMEN TO CELEBRATE HOW THEY BRING MOTHER NATURE TO THE SCREEN IN ALL-NEW TOUR

Think you know what a wildlife filmmaker looks like? Think again!

The fearless female storytellers behind some of the world’s best-loved wildlife documentaries are hitting the road for a new adventure, as Wild Women Live – The Tour heads to venues across the country in 2027.

A cast of acclaimed female presenters, filmmakers, camera operators and storytellers, drawn from the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, Netflix and National Geographic, will share their inspiring stories, extraordinary challenges and the secrets of how they bring Mother Nature to life on screen.

The all-new tour will head to 29 venues across the country through the Spring, starting at Redgrave Theatre in Bristol on April 2 and ending at Theatre by the Lake in Keswick on May 14.

Fronting the tour are broadcaster Michaela Strachan (The Really Wild Show, Countryfile, Springwatch), and wildlife camera operator and presenter Anna Dimitriadis (Big Cats 24/7, Tiger Island), who is equally at home filming big cats at close range or diving beneath Antarctic ice.

Joining Anna and Michaela on stage for these inspiring and moving shows as they shine a long-overdue spotlight on the women behind the lens and in front of the camera will be biologist and explorer Lizzie Daly, zoologist and conservationist Megan McCubbin, Scottish filmmaker Libby Penman, environmental journalist and author Sarah Roberts, filmmaker and digital storyteller Hannah Stitfall and broadcaster Naomi Wilkinson.

From sweltering jungles to frozen Arctic landscapes via Britain’s own coastlines and countryside, these pioneering women have captured the beauty, drama and hidden lives of the natural world – bringing their particular female perspectives to some of the world’s most-loved wildlife programmes.

Speaking about the new tour, Anna said: “The women we are bringing together for this tour come from different disciplines and generations – but what unites us all is courage, exceptional skill, resilience and a determination to look more closely at Mother Nature’s wonders.

“Women have long been at the heart of the world’s greatest wildlife storytelling – and this is our opportunity to share our experiences of bringing the wonders of nature into millions of homes, and we cannot wait to get out there and tell these stories.”

Paying tribute to the cast’s diverse experiences, Michaela added: “Our wild women span an incredible range of work within natural history; field science, long-lens, underwater and drone cinematography, environmental investigation, conservation campaigning, children’s storytelling and the creation of wildlife films audiences around the world.

“I am so excited to bring us all together to create a show which is inspiring, candid and alive with the humour and unpredictability of working in the wild.

Anna Dimitriadis

A wildlife cinematographer and presenter known for BBC’s Big Cats 24/7 and BBC One’s Tiger Island, Anna has filmed big cats at close range, dived beneath Antarctic ice and used pioneering long-lens, underwater and drone techniques to capture extraordinary animal behaviour. She featured at the Royal Albert Hall celebration of Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday, operating a thermal camera live on stage while sharing her filmmaking expertise.

Michaela Strachan

A BAFTA Award-winning presenter and a pioneer of wildlife broadcasting, Michaela has brought the natural world into millions of homes through The Really Wild Show, Michaela’s Wild Challenge, Countryfile, Springwatch, Orangutan Diaries, Elephant Diaries and Extreme Conservation. Her warmth, humour and enthusiasm make her a uniquely engaging guide to the surprises, difficulties and magical moments of a career spent in the wild.

Lizzie Daly

A wildlife biologist, explorer and broadcaster, Lizzie has worked across the BBC, National Geographic, Sky, Love Nature and Animal Planet. Her adventures include tracking musk oxen in the Arctic, searching for jaguars in the Pantanal and diving into marine ecosystems. Alongside filmmaking, she is completing a PhD using tag technology to understand how animals move and adapt in a changing world and has filmed a Channel 4 series following orphaned elephants.

Megan McCubbin

An award-winning zoologist, author and conservationist, Megan is known for BBC’s BAFTA award-winning Springwatch and Animal Park. Her work ranges from tracking Britain’s hidden wildlife to front-line conservation, including exposing illegal songbird trapping in Cyprus, and she is celebrated for making science accessible, urgent and inspiring.

Libby Penman

Libby Penman is an award-winning Scottish wildlife filmmaker, camera operator and presenter with a passion for sharing the natural world through compelling storytelling. Her work has earned industry recognition, including Scottish Influencer of the Year for Visuals (2026/27), Scottish RTS TV Personality of the Year (2026) and Best Documentary at the Scottish Short Film Festival.

Sarah Roberts

An environmental journalist, author and presenter with a degree in animal behaviour, Sarah explores the complex relationship between people and wildlife. Her field experience stretches from the Bimini Shark Lab, where she was once bitten by a lemon shark, to Netflix’s All The Sharks as part of the only British team. She is also the author of Somebody Swallowed Stanley and leads environmental outreach through her Creature project.

Hannah Stitfall

An RTS-nominated presenter and filmmaker with more than one million followers across her social channels, Hannah has brought a fresh, optimistic voice to wildlife storytelling. With a first-class degree in zoology and a master’s degree in wildlife filmmaking, she is known for BBC’s Springwatch, Winterwatch and The One Show, as well as her self-shot films, photography, podcasting and published work.

Naomi Wilkinson

Best known for Naomi’s Nightmares of Nature and Live ‘n’ Deadly with Steve Backshall, Naomi has built a career by facing the animals and fears from which most people would retreat. Her experiences include working around millions of bats, tagging saltwater crocodiles, feeding hippos, surviving an escaped sea snake and supporting conservation projects from California condor releases to turtle hatchlings – all shared with humour, honesty and heart.
