The Swedish Government has granted further support to continue Swecare's work with sustainable healthcare in Ukraine
We welcome this as a recognition of the shared commitment between Swecare and our public and private sector partners to building a stronger, more resilient healthcare system in Ukraine.
“Russia’s full-scale invasion has placed Ukraine’s healthcare system under severe pressure, while healthcare needs have increased significantly. The Government is therefore granting the Swecare Foundation SEK 6.9 million for 2026 to strengthen Ukraine’s healthcare system. This support will be provided through training initiatives, knowledge exchange and partnerships between Swedish and Ukrainian stakeholders, including businesses.” - The Government Offices of Sweden.
Together with our Swedish and Ukrainian counterparts we continue building long-term collaborations that make a real difference, while also learning from Ukraine's experience of delivering healthcare under crisis and war.

Activities continue as we speak: with our support Swedish-Ukrainian cooperation in health has been running during spring and summer. Work is being done in radiotherapy education and improving perioperative protocols in liver and colorectal cancer surgery, as well as in infection prevention.
