Swedbank Robur is launching the fund Food and Water, an actively managed global equity fund focused on the transformation of how we produce food and use water. The fund invests across the entire food and water value chain, from farming and production to distribution, consumption and waste management.
“Today, a large share of the world’s population lacks access to healthy food, while water stress is creating challenges for both people and businesses. The investment gap is significant, and for water infrastructure alone it is estimated at EUR 6.5 trillion through 2040.* This highlights the scale of the challenges, but also the opportunities for companies that can contribute to the transition,” says Linnea Zanetti, Portfolio Manager of Swedbank Robur Food and Water.
The fund will invest globally and will initially comprise 50–70 holdings, including companies of different sizes and from different parts of the value chain. Examples of investments may include companies developing solutions for precision agriculture, water treatment and more efficient irrigation, as well as companies operating in packaging, logistics and recycling. The investment areas are linked to several of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.**
“We are very pleased to broaden our offering with another investment theme driven by long-term structural changes in society. Population growth, urbanisation and changing consumption patterns are affecting demand for food and water, while climate change and limited resources are accelerating the need for transformation. Within this transition, we see opportunities for companies that can develop the solutions we need,” says Pia Haak, CIO at Swedbank Robur.
The fund will be traded daily and has a management fee of 0.7%.
Past performance does not guarantee future returns. The value of the fund can both rise and fall and you may not get back the amount originally invested. Funds with risk class 5-7 can rise and fall significantly in value. Find fact sheet, information brochure and information about your rights on www.swedbankrobur.se
