Following the succession process initiated on 7 July 2026, the Board of Directors of ABG Sundal Collier ("ABGSC" or "the Group") has appointed Sverre Tyrhaug as CEO of the Group. Tyrhaug will assume the role during Q4.
Kristian B. Fyksen will continue as interim CEO until Tyrhaug takes up the position and will thereafter continue as Head of Investment Banking. Upon assuming the role, Tyrhaug will also become CEO of ABG Sundal Collier ASA in Norway. Erik Skog will continue as interim CEO of ABG Sundal Collier AB in Sweden and as Head of Investment Banking Sweden.
"Following a thorough succession process, the Board is pleased to appoint Sverre as CEO of ABGSC. He has a proven track record in leadership, culture and strategic development, combined with extensive experience advising clients on capital markets and M&A. His profile complements the deep commercial and market expertise already present within the Executive Committee and will support the organisation's continued focus on clients, deal-making and execution. The Board believes this combination makes him well suited to lead ABGSC into its next phase," says Knut Brundtland, Chairman of ABGSC.
Tyrhaug has served as Managing Partner of Thommessen since 2013 and brings considerable experience in leading an independent professional services firm in a competitive, client-facing market.
"ABGSC has a strong position as a leading independent Nordic investment bank, built on exceptional people, close client relationships and a distinctive partnership culture. I am honoured by the opportunity to lead the firm and look forward to working with Kristian, the Executive Committee, partners and colleagues across the Group to build on ABGSC's strengths and create long-term value for our clients, employees, partners and shareholders," says Sverre Tyrhaug.
"The Board would also like to thank Kristian for his strong and committed leadership during the transition. He will continue in the important role as Head of Investment Banking, with full focus on further developing our core business to achieve our ambitious goals and pursuing the significant commercial opportunities across products and geographies," says Knut Brundtland.
"Until Sverre assumes the role, my full focus remains on leading ABGSC. I look forward to working closely with him to ensure a smooth transition. Thereafter, I am excited to focus fully on accelerating the development and significant potential of our Investment Banking business, which is the priority growth area for the Group going forward," says Kristian B. Fyksen.
Sverre Tyrhaug has expressed an intention to acquire 1,000,000 ABGSC shares in the market following the announcement of the appointment, subject to applicable market-abuse rules.
