STARCARES Equips Seven Foster Homes for Child...

Moshi, Tanzania, October 5th, 2026, FinanceWire

The initiative with Kijana Kwanza furnishes seven family-style homes for up to 250 beneficiaries in Tanzania.

STARCARES, the CSR initiative of STARTRADER, has partnered with Kijana Kwanza in Tanzania to equip seven new foster homes for up to 250 beneficiaries. By turning newly built housing into safe, functional homes, the initiative supports the stability children need to continue their education and move towards greater independence.

STARCARES has provided beds, mattresses, bedding, wardrobes, cooking stoves, dining tables and chairs, enabling the homes to function from day one. The support forms part of its Where Tomorrow STARs Begin programme, focused on education, youth development and long-term opportunity.

Kijana Kwanza, meaning “Young People First,” is a Moshi-based NGO providing holistic care for 250 beneficiaries aged 5–22 through education, vocational training, life skills, shelter and community programmes, with its wider programme of services reaching over 23,000 people

“STARCARES is helping us turn these new houses into real homes. Their support provides the everyday essentials our children need to live with dignity, stability and care from the moment they move in.” — Mujibu Idrisa Abeid, CEO, Kijana Kwanza

For many of the children supported by Kijana Kwanza, a secure home is the foundation for staying in education, building practical skills, growing in confidence and progressing towards independence.

"What matters most is giving young people the stability to feel safe today and the confidence to imagine a different tomorrow. That is the value we want STARCARES to create: support that strengthens lives and opens opportunities for the future.”— Muhammed Padhani, CCO of STARTRADER

The Tanzania initiative builds on STARCARES’ work in Nigeria, Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines, reaching more communities where young people need safer spaces, greater care and stronger opportunities.

Guided by its principle, “Bringing STAR, Delivering CARE,” STARCARES continues expanding its reach where support is needed most, turning essential needs into stronger foundations for young people to live, learn and move forward with confidence.
