SSC Space and Saab sign MoU to explore cooperation on space and multi-domain capabilities

SSC Space and Saab have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore potential areas of cooperation related to space and Multi-Domain Operations (MDO), including the use of Esrange Space Center as a strategic facility for testing, demonstration, launch, and operations in this respect, to deliver sovereign, end-to-end space capabilities for Sweden and Europe.

Under the MoU, Saab and SSC Space are jointly exploring how Saab, as system integrator, can combine SSC Space’s ground and orbital launch infrastructure with contributions from a broader partner ecosystem linking space, air, land and naval systems to deliver sovereign, end-to-end space capabilities as part of Saab-coordinated MDO solutions for Sweden and Europe.

The collaboration focuses on incorporating space capabilities into Saab-coordinated Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) solutions, linking space, air, land, and ground naval systems.

The potential areas of cooperation include the use of Esrange Space Center in northern Sweden as a strategic site for testing, demonstration, launch, and operations related to relevant space and multi-domain capabilities.

In addition, the MoU covers potential MDO-related cooperation in ground station and satellite operations services through the global ground station network of SSC Space, Launch and Early Orbit Phase services, mission engineering, and high-altitude platform services.
