Smoltek Nanotech Holding AB (publ) (“Smoltek”) today publishes its interim report for the second quarter of 2026 – a period characterized by continued focus on commercialization and industrial scale-up in semiconductors and hydrogen.
Smoltek's President & CEO, Magnus Andersson, comments on the interim report:
The most important event of the period was the heavily oversubscribed rights issue, which together with the over-allotment issue provided the company with approximately SEK 82 million before issue costs and offset of loans.
Smoltek Semi – ultra-thin capacitors for AI chips and data centers
Smoltek Semi continues to develop the CNF-MIM technology towards commercial products. Customer contacts were intensified during the quarter, including through visits to Taiwan and participation in Yageo Group's AI Summit – important activities in one of the world's leading ecosystems for electronics and semiconductors.
The technology has potential in several growing segments, especially RF and optoelectronics, with significant long-term potential also in advanced power supply for AI infrastructure and data centers. The focus is now on customer validation and building the conditions for industrialization.
Smoltek Hydrogen – iridium-saving electrodes for PEM electrolysis
Smoltek Hydrogen develops electrode technology for PEM electrolyzers and fuel cells with the goal of significantly reducing the need for critical precious metals such as iridium and platinum. The technology thus addresses a key bottleneck for the global scale-up of green hydrogen.
The collaboration with Heraeus Precious Metals is an important part of the path towards commercialization of next-generation porous transport electrodes with ultra-low iridium content. After the end of the quarter, plans for a joint 3,000-hour durability test were also announced – an important step in the technical and commercial validation.
During the quarter, Gabriel Altby took office as new CFO, and in June, Magnus Andersson also took over the role of President of Smoltek Hydrogen. After the end of the quarter, Smoltek also joined Maxbatt, a national industry consortium that creates opportunities to evaluate the company's core technology within next-generation battery technology and electrification.
The full interim report is available on the company's website.
