The purchases were made under the company's share buyback programme announced on 28 April 2026, based on the authorization granted by the Annual General Meeting of SKEL fjárfestingafélag hf. held on 5 March 2026. The programme is expected to continue within the limits authorized by the Annual General Meeting, provided that the aggregate purchase price does not exceed the predetermined maximum amount. The buyback programme will remain in effect until either the maximum number of shares or the maximum purchase amount has been reached, unless terminated earlier by the company.
SKEL has now purchased a total of 8,124,915 treasury shares for a total consideration of ISK 136,407,246, representing 0.43% of the company's total issued share capital of 1,878,479,032 shares.
The execution of the share buyback programme is conducted in accordance with the authorization granted by the Annual General Meeting, the Icelandic Public Limited Companies Act No. 2/1995, the Icelandic Act on Measures Against Market Abuse No. 60/2021, Regulation (EU) No. 596/2014 on market abuse, and Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2016/1052 laying down regulatory technical standards for share buyback programmes.
