SBF, together with BauMont Real Estate Capital part of M&G Real Estate, has acquired the residential property Kilen 4 in central Stockholm with a total area of approximately 2,700 square metres. The acquisition is the second under the strategic partnership between SBF and BauMont.
The property Kilen 4 was acquired from IF Metall Fastighetsaktiebolag. Together with the prior acquisition of Smältan 2 and Terrakottan 4, announced on 8 September, this acquisition marks BauMont’s entry into the Nordic region under its strategic partnership with SBF. With an investment capacity of up to SEK 6 billion the partnership will continue to actively evaluate other residential opportunities across the Stockholm region.
– This acquisition further strengthens our presence in attractive residential areas in the Stockholm region and is well aligned with the strategy we have developed together with BauMont. We continue to engage in discussions and evaluate potential investments to determine which opportunities to pursue, says Johan Rosén, CIO, SBF Fonder.
These acquisitions reflect BauMont’s strategy of targeting well-located European assets with potential for selective repositioning and long-term value creation. Supported by M&G Real Estate’s €39 billion platform, BauMont combines its investment expertise with SBF’s origination capabilities, local market knowledge and integrated operational platform.
– These first investments reflects the strength of opportunities in the Nordics region, and Sweden in particular. The residential market offers an attractive value proposition in a recovering market, coupled with strong market fundamentals. Together with SBF’s local expertise and operational capabilities, we look forward to enhancing these assets and selectively growing BauMont’s presence in the region, says Olivier Vellay, Partner, BauMont Real Estate Capital.
The Nordics real estate market is well established and attractive to institutional investors as it is supported by strong economic fundamentals.
– We are showing our ability to turn strategy into execution. With a team on the ground and a scalable platform, we are well positioned to continue growing alongside institutional capital, says Terje Björsell, CEO, SBF Fonder.
As a result of this transaction, SBF’s total portfolio under management increases to 110 properties across 20 locations in Sweden.
