The Pentagon's fiscal 2027 request allocates roughly $55 billion to drone and autonomous warfare programs, up from about $225 million the prior year. U.S. Special Operations Command has separately been sourcing small one-way attack drones designed to be launched from aircraft, and the Marine Corps in July stood up the Marine Corps Robotics Integration Group at Twentynine Palms to train and standardize Group 1 and Group 2 UAS employment across the force. On July 16, Quantum Drones Corporation closed the $2.3 million acquisition of a 50,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at 38 Union Avenue in Bridgeport, Connecticut, complete with installed tool-and-die and CNC equipment. On July 27, it built the first mini-interceptor drone at that facility. The company has publicly targeted approximately 100,000 drones annually once the facility is at full run-rate, complemented by an on-site Advanced Filament Manufacturing Division producing a patent-pending EMP-shielding composite, "Formula A."
