Established in 1868, The Investment Company is one of the UK's oldest investment trusts. On 28 July 2026, the Company appointed Dowgate Wealth Limited as its Investment Manager to pursue a new strategy, with a revised investment objective and policy .
Under Dowgate's portfolio management, the Company seeks to preserve and grow shareholders' purchasing power over the long term through a diversified, multi-asset investment strategy. The portfolio may invest in global equities, monetary metals, Bitcoin (via regulated exchange traded products (ETPs) and inflation-linked securities, with allocations actively managed in response to changing market conditions and economic environments.

About Dowgate Wealth Limited ("Dowgate")
Dowgate is a dynamic, owner-managed boutique wealth and fund manager. As at 31 December 2025, Dowgate administered approximately £2 billion in client assets, of which approximately £900 million was managed on a discretionary basis. It acts as investment or portfolio manager to two funds - including one closed-ended vehicle, Onward Opportunities Limited - and has a track record for taking on and scaling mandates.
