Peab has been commissioned to carry out a fundamental renovation of the protected F and T buildings at Vanha Vaasa Hospital in Vaasa. The customer is Senate Properties and the contract is worth EUR 14 million, which corresponds to SEK 154 million.
The F building, which will undergo extensive renovation, is the hospital's original main building and was completed in the 1840s. It will house wards that meet current requirements for patients requiring more care. A new centralized care center will be built in the T building, including premises for a laboratory, pharmaceutical center, dentists, physiotherapy and offices.
Peab previously built a new building at Vanha Vaasa Hospital for Senate Properties which was completed at the end of 2025.
"We’re proud to continue to work with Senate Properties. Our good collaboration is based on trust, competence and a shared will, which will provide excellent conditions to make this project successful as well," says Kalle Kulmala, Division Head, Peab in Finland.
The project will begin in August 2026 and is expected to be completed in March 2028.
The project will be order registered in business area Construction in the third quarter 2026.
