The Board of Directors of Videberg Kraft AB has appointed Patrick Guné as its new CEO from November 1st, 2026. Patrick Guné joins from the Swedish Transport Administration, where he is Head of Major Projects. He brings extensive experience of leading complex infrastructure and industrial projects in Sweden and internationally, including roles at WSP and Skanska.
Acting CEO Desirée Comstedt remains in the role until Patrick Guné enters his position. She will then move into a new role at Videberg Kraft as Deputy CEO.
“Under Desirée Comstedt’s leadership, Videberg Kraft has taken several decisive steps towards new nuclear power in Sweden. An agreement with the state on risk sharing and financing, the final selection of a supplier, and the establishment of the foundations for a highly capable project organisation are just three examples of important milestones achieved during 2026. We are very pleased that Desirée will remain with the company in a new role as Deputy CEO from November 1st; which will be important for the continued success of the project,” says Tom Erixon, Chairman of Videberg Kraft.

Latest developments briefly:
On June 15, Videberg Kraft announced that its Board had decided to proceed with Rolls-Royce SMR as the supplier of three small modular reactors for its project on the Värö Peninsula. Following negotiations on state financing and risk sharing, the Swedish state announced on June 25 its intention to acquire 60 per cent of the shares in Videberg Kraft from Vattenfall. In early July, the Swedish Government Offices began the process of notifying the European Commission of the Swedish state’s intention to acquire a majority holding in Videberg Kraft during 2027.

At the Swedish Transport Administration, he is responsible for major infrastructure projects valued at more than SEK 1 billion each, with a combined project portfolio of approximately SEK 450 billion.
