NYAB signs agreement with Svenska kraftnät for main grid expansion

NYAB has signed an agreement with Svenska kraftnät for Phase 2 of the Letsi–Svartbyn collaboration project. The agreement covers the construction and commissioning of a new 400 kV overhead power line in Norrbotten and is valued at approximately SEK 1.6 billion.

In November 2025, NYAB signed an agreement with Svenska kraftnät for Phase 1 of Letsi-Svartbyn, which covered planning and engineering. The project now proceeds to the execution phase.

Letsi–Svartbyn is an approximately 100-kilometre 400 kV overhead power line between the municipalities of Jokkmokk and Boden. The power line will contribute to increased transmission capacity and maintained security of supply in northern Sweden. Svenska kraftnät is the authority responsible for Sweden’s electricity transmission system.

Work under Phase 2 will begin immediately. The contract as a whole is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2029. The order will be included in the order backlog of NYAB’s Civil Engineering business segment in the third quarter of 2026.
