Notice of Allowance received for POLB 001 Cancer Immunotherapy-induced CRS patent in Israel
Continued momentum in Poolbeg's global intellectual property strategy
21 July 2026 - Poolbeg Pharma (AIM: POLB, 'Poolbeg' or the 'Company'), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company with a core focus on transforming the cancer immunotherapy field, announces that it has received a Notice of Allowance for its POLB 001 cancer immunotherapy-induced Cytokine Release Syndrome ("CRS") patent application from the Israeli Patent Office.
This positive update follows the decision to grant the patent application in Europe and formal grants in Australia and Canada, representing further progress in the Company's global IP strategy to protect its lead asset, POLB 001, a potentially preventative oral therapy for cancer immunotherapy-induced CRS.
The patent application in Israel covers the use of p38 MAPK inhibitors, including POLB 001, for the prevention of cancer immunotherapy-induced CRS, and is underpinned by proprietary data generated by Poolbeg. The application has now passed examination by the Israeli patent office, and the Board expects it to progress to grant in due course. As the Company advances through clinical development, such IP progress supports the strategic and commercial appeal of the asset to potential partners and reinforces Poolbeg's commitment to building a robust and defensible patent estate around POLB 001.
Jeremy Skillington, PhD, Chief Executive Officer of Poolbeg Pharma, said: "Continued positive momentum in our global IP strategy is crucial to strengthening POLB 001's intellectual property position. Receiving a Notice of Allowance from the Israeli Patent Office is an important step towards securing full patent protection and reflects the strength of our proprietary data and scientific approach.
"Building a robust and globally protected IP estate remains a core priority for us, thereby enhancing the strategic appeal of POLB 001 as we continue to engage with potential partners. We look forward to securing the full patent grant in due course and continuing to expand protection across key territories worldwide."
