Nimlas has entered into an agreement to acquire Erling Olsen AS in Tvedestrand, Norway. The acquisition gives Nimlas its first pure-play plumbing company in Norway, following up on the plumbing and HVAC initiative launched with the acquisitions of Teca and Tekniskbureau in 2025.
“When we acquired Teca and Tekniskbureau, we were clear that we wanted to build greater strength in plumbing and other technical disciplines. The acquisition of Erling Olsen shows that we are following our strategy and continuing to invest in plumbing as an important growth area in Norway,” says Terje Myhre, CEO of Nimlas Norway.
A well-established and respected plumbing company
Erling Olsen AS has provided plumbing services since 1962 and is a well-established player in Southern Norway. The company has 34 employees and annual revenue of approximately NOK 115 million. Erling Olsen serves both private and commercial customers, with services including sanitation, heating, sprinkler systems, service and maintenance, and large-scale project deliveries. The company also has extensive experience from technically demanding projects, including work related to data centres and other critical infrastructure.
“Erling Olsen is exactly the kind of company we want on our team. They have skilled professionals, a strong culture, a long history and a solid market position. At the same time, they share our view on local ownership, quality and long-term value creation,” says Myhre.
“Erling Olsen AS has a long history, and we are proud of what we have built together. The company is stronger than ever, which is why it has been important to find the right partner for the next phase. In Nimlas, we have found a partner that understands who we are and shares our ambitions. Together, we will be better positioned to develop the company further, while preserving the culture and everything that has made Erling Olsen AS the company it is today,” says Steffen Hestad Olsen, Managing Director of Erling Olsen AS.
An industry with significant opportunities
The need for energy efficiency, renovation and increasingly complex technical buildings is driving growing demand for plumbing expertise. Plumbing will therefore be a key focus area for Nimlas in the years ahead.
“Technical installations are increasingly about integrated solutions, and we see great value in bringing together strong expertise across multiple disciplines. At the same time, plumbing is a strong discipline in its own right, with significant growth potential," says Myhre.
Part of a broader growth plan
The acquisition is part of Nimlas’ continued growth in Norway and the Nordics. Nimlas Norway aims to double its business in Norway, while Nimlas Group’s 4-40-4 strategy aims to grow the Group’s revenue from SEK 10 billion to SEK 40 billion and establish operations in four new markets by 2031.
“To achieve our ambitions, we need to grow both geographically and across disciplines. Erling Olsen strengthens our position in Southern Norway and gives us a clearer platform in plumbing. This is the next step in our strategy,” says Myhre.
Locally strong. Stronger together.
Erling Olsen AS will continue as a separate company under the same name, with its local management, employees and customer relationships intact. In line with the Nimlas model, the company retains its brand, culture and local decision-making authority, while gaining access to the Group’s expertise and support functions.
