New Partnership Agreement in Belgium
ProBiotix Health plc (AQSE: PBX), the life sciences business developing probiotics to support cardiometabolic health, is delighted to announce a new partnership agreement with Belgium based Nutrisan.
ProBiotix has secured a commercial cooperation with Nutrisan to supply its patented probiotic strain LPLDL® for a new standalone product launched under the Nutrisan PRO brand, targeted at pharmacists and healthcare professionals across Belgium. Nutrisan is a leading Belgian nutraceutical company, specialising in the development, production and distribution of high-quality, natural food supplements since 1998.
The agreement marks ProBiotix's entry into the Belgian market and further expands the Company's European commercial footprint, supporting its strategy of partnering with premium nutraceutical brands and extending the reach of LPLDL® through healthcare professional channels.
After an extensive evaluation of clinically substantiated ingredients in the cardiometabolic space, Nutrisan selected LPLDL® for its robust, peer-reviewed clinical evidence supporting healthy cholesterol levels and its differentiated mechanism of action. Within the Nutrisan PRO supplement range, LPLDL® is available as a 60-capsule pack, providing healthcare practitioners and consumers with an evidence-based, single-strain probiotic option to support healthy cholesterol metabolism.
Nutrisan is committed to investing in the long-term growth of LPLDL® in Belgium, including scientific training and introductions to pharmacists and healthcare professionals, continuing professional education, consumer communication on the link between the gut microbiome and cardiometabolic health, and high-quality marketing materials and digital campaigns. This strong commitment to scientific engagement and healthcare professional education provides an ideal platform to build long-term awareness and adoption of LPLDL® in Belgium. This builds on Nutrisan's newly launched webshop, enabling customers to purchase the product directly via the company's social media channels. ProBiotix will supply the finished formulation, with Nutrisan responsible for packaging, branding and marketing of the finished product.
Cardiovascular disease is one of Belgium's leading causes of death, and is estimated to account for approximately 28% of all deaths in Belgium. Around half of the adult population is reported to have elevated cholesterol levels, reinforcing the growing need for accessible, science-backed solutions to support cardiovascular and metabolic health. Estimates suggest c.1.3 million people in Belgium are living with cardiovascular disease, with around 123,000 cases diagnosed each year[1].
Steen Andersen, CEO of ProBiotix Health, commented: "We are pleased to be working with Nutrisan, a forward thinking and innovative company which shares our view that LPLDL® is a premium, science-led solution, supported by strong clinical validation.
"Healthcare professionals, pharmacists and consumers quite rightly demand a high standard of product, and through this partnership we expect to continue to increase our market awareness through the proven benefits of using LPLDL®. Belgium is a growing market for ProBiotix, and we see plenty of opportunity to drive further revenue in the country."
Jan De Backer, CEO of Nutrisan, added: "At Nutrisan, we believe that the future of preventive health lies in innovative solutions based on solid science. With the launch of LPLDL® , we are taking an important step toward our mission to naturally support people in maintaining their cardiovascular and metabolic health.
"Thanks to its unique mechanism of action via the gut microbiome, LPLDL® represents a new generation of probiotics that perfectly aligns with our vision: scientifically validated ingredients that offer real added value for both healthcare professionals and consumers."
