The project is now moving forward to the construction phase following a joint development phase. NCC’s contract encompasses the construction of an approximately 9,000 square-meter school building for about 600 junior high school students. In addition to general and special education classrooms, the project includes plans for a sports hall, kitchen, dining areas, a stage, a library and spaces for student health services and administration.
“Great emphasis was placed on integrating user-friendly solutions in the design of the new school, and the project has been very successful in this regard. The technical and financial targets we have set for the project will also be met, providing a solid basis for initiating the construction phase,” says Seppo Saaristo, CEO of Turun monitoimitilat.
“NCC is highly experienced in the construction of schools in close collaboration with our customers. When we become involved at an early stage, we can add valuable know-how across the construction process, while working together to develop solutions and ensure achievement of the project’s goals,” says Catarina Molén-Runnäs, Head of NCC Building Nordics.
Construction will commence immediately and the school is scheduled for completion in autumn 2028.
The project has an order value of about SEK 300 million and will be registered in the NCC Building Nordics business area in the third quarter of 2026.
