On August 13, NA-KD moves in with Kustom. The pop-up is the first activation in the Kustom Concept Store at Sturegatan 6 in Stockholm. The new space is part of Kustom's expanded in-person payments offering, giving merchants the opportunity to create physical customer experiences in a prime retail location without investing in a store of their own.
The Kustom Concept Store sits adjacent to the checkout company's headquarters and is designed as a showroom. The space will be available to selected merchants for pop-ups, events, product launches and creative collaborations. First to move in is fashion brand NA-KD, opening its pop-up on August 13.
"As a digital fashion brand, we're constantly looking for new ways to get closer to our shoppers. The pop-up at Kustom lets us meet them in a physical setting and offer a checkout experience in store that's every bit as good as online," says Mattias Jacobsson, CEO of NA-KD.
As consumers do more of their shopping online, the need for physical touchpoints that strengthen the relationship between brand and customer is also growing. Pop-ups, events and other temporary formats allow merchants to build trust, create experiences and meet customers across more channels, with greater flexibility than a permanent retail space.
"The future of retail doesn't need more separate systems. It needs a better experience for the customer, and simpler tools for merchants to meet their shoppers. The Kustom Concept Store is a concrete step in our ambition to broaden our offering from the digital checkout to a shopping experience that holds together across channels, whether online, in store or in a temporary physical setting," says Kamjar Hajabdolahi, CEO of Kustom.
The concept store reflects Kustom's broader ambition to make it easier for merchants to sell where their customers are. Kustom offers the Nordic region's leading checkout solution and has already expanded into physical retail, including with Kustom Mobile Point of Sale, which enables merchants to accept payments on a smartphone without a separate card terminal. By connecting digital and physical sales, Kustom aims to give merchants better conditions to create a seamless shopping experience, whether sales happen in store or online.
