Press release, 1 October 2026 at 2:00 p.m. EEST
The special common fund Mandatum AM Finland Properties II and Mandatum’s direct real estate investment portfolio received the highest five-star rating in the GRESB Assessment. Both portfolios also ranked first in their respective international peer groups.
The Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) assesses the sustainability practices and performance of real estate investments worldwide. In this year’s assessment, both real estate portfolios managed by Mandatum ranked first in their respective international peer groups.
The special common fund Mandatum AM Finland Properties II received a five-star rating for the third consecutive year and rose to the top of its Northern European peer group. The fund ranked sixth in the same comparison a year earlier, making this year’s result a particularly strong improvement.
Mandatum’s direct real estate investment portfolio received a five-star rating for the first time. It ranked first in its Northern European peer group and also achieved the highest overall score in a broader peer group, as well as the top position in the Performance Assessment, which measures the operational performance of real estate assets.
The results demonstrate the effectiveness of Mandatum’s approach to responsible real estate investment management in an international comparison.
“Our GRESB results have improved consistently over several years. This demonstrates that our long-term efforts are also reflected in international benchmarking. The improvement was driven by measures related to energy efficiency, the use of renewable energy, environmental management, certifications, tenant and stakeholder engagement, and risk management. Sustainability is an integral part of our investment activities, not a separate project”, says Emilia Riikonen, Head of Real Estate Investments at Mandatum.
The results were achieved in an operating environment where sustainability requirements in the real estate market and the overall benchmark level of the GRESB Assessment have continued to rise year after year. Both portfolios improved particularly in areas covered by the Performance Assessment, which measures the operational performance of real estate assets. The results are based on activities carried out in 2025, which are described in more detail in the Responsible Real Estate Investment Review.
