Lioness Medtech AB (publ), Nordic distributor and value-added reseller of advanced imaging and radiotherapy technologies, announces its participation with portable MRI at Röntgenveckan 2026, September 8-11th at Svenska Mässan in Gothenburg.
Lioness Medtech showcase live brain MRI scans with Hyperfine Swoop® portable MRI system for radiology professionals at Röntgenveckan. Live demo scans of volunteers demonstrate Swoop®'s image quality and ease of use. Participants discuss multiple use-cases in intensive care, surgery, paediatric wards and other point-of-care settings where bedside imaging offers advantages over transporting patients to a fixed MRI suite.
Hyperfine Inc. recently announced that the next-generation Swoop® portable MRI system and the latest advancement in Optive AI™ software had received CE Marking covering the European Economic Area. This milestone will support broader access to advanced portable brain imaging at the point of care.

Swoop® is an ultra-low-field (0.064Tesla, i.e. 64mT) MRI that requires no radiofrequency shielding that conventional high-field MRI systems depend on, allowing it to scan in electromagnetically active clinical settings, such as intensive care units (ICU), emergency departments (ED), and Pediatric wards, and most importantly, without compromising image quality. A recent Optive AI software update from Hyperfine extends the system's built-in noise-cancellation across all scan sequences, producing sharper and more consistent images in these point-of-care environments. The update also introduces a more guided scanning workflow and lets clinicians view images in real time as they are acquired.

“Hyperfine’s CE approvals for the next-generation Swoop® system and the latest Optive AI™ software are highly encouraging for the European market,” said Bernt Nordin, Managing Director at Lioness Medtech. “We see strong potential for this technology to support faster and more accessible brain imaging closer to the patient, particularly in acute and critical care environments where mobility, speed, and clinical usability matter.”
