Scan Sverige’s climate targets have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This means that all three businesses in Lantmännen’s Food Division – Lantmännen Unibake, Lantmännen Cerealia, and Scan Sverige – now have SBTi-approved climate targets.
“SBTi is an important part of our climate efforts and provides a clear, science-based direction. At the same time, the targets need to be translated into concrete action. We therefore work across the value chain, together with farmers, suppliers, and customers, to reduce emissions,” says Claes Johansson, Head of Sustainability at Lantmännen.
Lantmännen Unibake’s targets were approved in 2023 and Lantmännen Cerealia’s in 2024.
For Scan Sverige, the targets cover both its own operations and emissions from farm to fork.
“A large share of emissions occurs early in our value chain, which makes collaboration essential. The farmers who supply us play a key role, and we see initiatives such as the Farm Initiative and our sustainability premium as important tools for driving progress,” says Elina Matsdotter, Head of Sustainability at Scan Sverige.
