KONE Corporation, press release, July 29, 2026
KONE Corporation, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, has won an order to provide people flow solutions for 75 London Wall, a major office redevelopment project in the City of London, UK. The former office building, known historically as Winchester House, stretches around 140 meters in length along the London Wall, the historic route of the ancient Roman city wall. It will go through a comprehensive refurbishment and expansion that will add four new storeys.
The project reflects a growing trend in London toward retrofit-first office projects, driven by sustainability goals and demand for high-quality, energy-efficient workplaces.
“Projects such as 75 London Wall require close collaboration and careful planning to integrate modern people flow solutions into existing structures,” says Karla Lindahl, EVP Europe at KONE. “We are proud to support this redevelopment in the City of London and to contribute solutions that help create efficient, sustainable and future-ready workplaces.”
Developed by Gamuda Land UK Limited and Castleforge, and built by Multiplex Construction Europe Ltd, the redeveloped building will provide approximately 450,000 square feet (41,800 m²) of office space across 13 floors and aims for leading sustainability standards, including BREEAM Outstanding, WELL Core Platinum and NABERS UK 5-Star certifications.
“We are delighted to be partnering with KONE on this landmark project to deliver a best in class vertical transport solution, fit for a building of this caliber. 75 London Wall is unique in its ‘groundscraper’ nature, presenting significant challenges for VT analysis," says Tom Porrill, Senior Development Manager at Castleforge. "KONE has worked collaboratively with us to ensure we have a market leading solution that will support the ever more demanding needs of tenants long into the future.”
KONE will supply 23 KONE MonoSpace® 700 DX elevators, helping ensure smooth and efficient people flow for approximately 4,000 daily users. The project will also utilize KONE Office Flow, E-Link monitoring, and connected services such as KONE 24/7 Connect to support building operations and user experience.
KONE booked the order in the first quarter of 2026. Construction will begin in August 2026, with completion scheduled for September 2027. The building is designed by ORMS Architecture Design.
