Upon completion, Burj Azizi in Dubai, UAE, will feature a continuous elevator journey of about 631.5 meters, enabled by KONE’s advanced high-rise solutions. Intelligent control systems that learn from traffic patterns and optimize elevator availability will enhance energy efficiency and passenger flow throughout the building.

KONE Corporation, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, has been selected as a partner to deliver advanced People Flow® solutions for Burj Azizi in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Planned to reach 725 meters, the tower will rank among the world’s tallest buildings once completed. The order highlights KONE’s latest high-rise innovations in action, helping customers push the boundaries of vertical reach while supporting safe and efficient travel on an exceptional scale.
For Burj Azizi, KONE will deliver technologies from its high-rise solutions offering, launched today to support world-record elevator travel heights and serve buildings reaching well past the 1-kilometer mark. In Burj Azizi, a KONE MiniSpace™ elevator is set to make one of the world’s longest single elevator journeys, traveling 631.5 meters.
Burj Azizi shows how advances in supertall buildings are driving improvements in vertical mobility. In towers of this height, conventional high-rise elevator systems face limits from the weight of traveling cables and resonance in hoisting components caused by building sway. KONE’s high-rise solutions offering brings together lighter, smarter technologies designed to address these challenges and support safer, more reliable and energy-efficient vertical travel over greater distances.
“As space becomes scarcer and more valuable in cities around the world, there’s no alternative to growing upwards, making advanced vertical mobility more essential than ever. With our high-rise expertise and future-proofed solutions, we create smooth, reliable journeys in landmark buildings like Burj Azizi,” says Philippe Delorme, KONE’s President and CEO.
The project includes 59 elevators and 15 escalators, with elevator speeds of up to 10 meters per second. KONE’s technologies are designed to make movement through the tower smooth, intuitive and efficient for residents, workers, hotel guests and visitors.
Energy-efficient elevators where people need them: The AI-enabled KONE Destination Control System uses traffic pattern data to adapt elevator availability to demand, with simulations showing around 60% shorter waiting times in peak traffic. By optimizing elevator operations, it also reduces unnecessary energy use.
Advanced hoisting technology for exceptional travel distances: UMX hoisting machinery and KONE UltraRope® makes key elevator equipment lighter and more compact. Electromechanical safety and battery technologies support more resilient elevator operation. Together, they reduce the moving mass in the elevator system, enabling longer travel at world-record heights with less energy and material.
24/7 connectivity for resilient operation: KONE 24/7 Connected Services continuously monitors elevator performance and uses intelligent analytics to identify potential issues before they cause disruption, enabling proactive maintenance, improving equipment availability and supporting efficient building operations.
“Burj Azizi represents a defining moment in Dubai’s architectural history, a 725-meter monument to engineering audacity and human ambition. KONE’s unmatched legacy in supertall structures, paired with its record-breaking single-travel elevator technology, ensures that every journey within Burj Azizi is as seamless, sustainable, and world-class as the tower itself. This partnership reflects our relentless pursuit of quality and excellence as we build an enduring legacy for the city we call home and the world at large,” says Farhad Azizi, Group CEO, Azizi Group.
“Dubai’s continued growth and ambitious urban development call for sustainable people flow. We are proud to support Azizi Developments with energy-efficient technologies including KONE UltraRope®, enabling smooth and reliable journeys for everyone at Burj Azizi,” says Samer Halabi, Executive Vice President, KONE Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa.
Upon completion, the tower is set to feature a range of landmark attractions, including an observation deck, hotel lobby, nightclub and restaurant, many of which are expected to rank among the highest of their kind globally. Gardinia Building Contracting, a subsidiary of Azizi Developments, serves as main contractor, with AE7 as the lead consultant.
KONE booked the order in Q3 2026.
