Press Release
Vantaa, Finland, 2 October 2026
Juhani Tanayama has started as Project Director at fur auction company Saga Furs. He reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for planning and advancing the company's strategic development initiatives. Further details on the initiatives will be announced as they progress.
Tanayama brings a strong international business background to the role. He has led operations, production and supply chains, particularly in the food and logistics industries, managed major development projects and worked abroad. He has also applied his project expertise in consulting assignments. Tanayama holds a Master's degree in Food Sciences from the University of Helsinki.
The value of Saga Furs' brokerage sales at the season's auctions more than doubled, exceeding EUR 680 million, and the company is now looking to the future through strategic development initiatives.
"Tanayama's international corporate and consulting background makes him an excellent fit for this role. His experience in development projects and supply chain management is precisely the expertise that the company needs," says Saga Furs CEO Markus Gotthardt.
"As a market leader, Saga Furs seeks solutions for various market situations and anticipates future needs. The fur skin traceability solution we launched in 2021 was already at that time a response to the digital product passport planned by the EU for textiles, which is expected to enter into force in 2029."
