STOCKHOLM - August 26, 2026 - Inify Laboratories, a unique laboratory service that provides diagnostics within pathology, is now operational in the UK, marking a major milestone in the company's international expansion. Following the completion of its UK laboratory and regulatory approval from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), Inify has signed its first agreement with an NHS Trust and commenced delivery of its digital pathology services.
The agreement with University Hospital Plymouth NHS Trust (UHP), signed in June, represents an important entry point into the UK public healthcare system. The collaboration focuses on streamlining diagnostics, shortening lead times and improving patient pathways. The first patient samples were received at the end of June.
"Successful launch means we have built the infrastructure, secured regulatory approval, signed our first agreement and delivered our first services to the NHS. This is only the start of Inify's international journey and gives us a strong platform from which to grow," says Fredrik Palm, CEO of Inify.
In dialogue with many regions and hospitals
Under the agreement, Inify manages the full chain from logistics and sample preparation to digitisation of patient samples. The hospital's pathologists can then perform diagnostics remotely in Inify's digital pathology system. Initial sample volumes are limited but are expected to increase gradually.
"The first delivery is an important proof point, but the real opportunity lies ahead. We are in dialogue with additional regions and hospitals, and our first NHS agreement gives us a strong reference as we continue to build our presence across the UK," says Palm.
The UK laboratory has undergone an extensive review and received CQC approval, a key requirement for conducting routine clinical diagnostics within the UK healthcare system. Inify has also strengthened its UK organisation with the appointment of an experienced Laboratory Director and additional Biomedical Scientists.
Inify's model fits the NHS perfectly
Inify continues to focus on the NHS, which handles the vast majority of patients undergoing prostate cancer investigations in the UK. Study visits to the laboratory and participation in leading industry events are also supporting the company's dialogue with potential customers and key stakeholders.
"We see a clear and significant need for more efficient pathology services in the UK. Our ambition is to combine high-quality diagnostics with logistics, digitisation and technology to create more efficient patient pathways. We are convinced that our services have the potential to deliver meaningful value to both healthcare providers and patients," says Palm.
Continued sales growth in Sweden
The UK expansion builds on Inify's established position in Sweden, where sales continue to grow. During the second quarter, the company was awarded a tender with Region Jämtland Härjedalen for complete prostate cancer diagnostics and signed an evaluation agreement with Region Västmanland for gastrointestinal diagnostics.
With regulatory approvals, operational infrastructure and its first NHS delivery now in place, Inify enters the next phase of its international growth journey -
with the UK as a key market for future expansion.
