IBU-tec fully on track in the first half of 2026 / Focus on capacity build-up for large LFP plant

Weimar, August 24, 2026 – IBU-tec advanced materials AG (“IBU-tec,” ISIN: DE000A0XYHT5) can report a successful first half of 2026. In terms of revenue under HGB (German GAAP) accounting, EUR 19.7 million (PY: EUR 18.9 million) was achieved, already representing more than half of the planned full-year revenue for 2026. In addition, in the first half of the year, IBU-tec had already received non-revenue-effective milestone payments in a double-digit EUR million range. Further milestone payments are expected in the coming quarters. Cash and cash equivalents increased significantly as a result, from just under EUR 1.1 million at the end of the first half of 2025 to EUR 9.7 million as of June 30, 2026. EBITDA amounted to EUR 2.0 million, in line with the prior-year level, meaning the EBITDA margin for the first half of the year, at 10.2 percent, was even slightly above the full-year target range of 7 to 10 percent. IBU-tec anticipates full-year revenue of EUR 37 million to EUR 39 million.

Operationally, the first six months of the year were shaped, as planned, by the capacity build-up of the LFP cathode material plant at the Bitterfeld-Wolfen site. By 2028, IBU-tec will complete Europe’s largest plant for the production of 15,000 tons of LFP battery material per year. The capacity build-up is taking place under comprehensive agreements with PowerCo SE, which has secured access to the entire capacity for 10 years starting in 2028. In the first half of the year, IBU-tec achieved significant construction progress, including the erection of the spray tower, trial operation of which will already begin by the end of the year. In addition, detailed engineering, the development of logistics infrastructure, the expansion of laboratory capacities, and the harmonization of IT systems have all progressed as planned.

In connection with the capacity build-up in the battery segment, IBU-tec expects a multi-fold rise of its consolidated revenue to an amount of EUR 120 to 140 million by 2030. The battery segment alone is expected to account for EUR 85 million to EUR 90 million of total revenue. IBU-tec is thus playing a significant role in building a European value chain intended to substantially reduce the dependence of Europe and North America on countries such as China for LFP battery materials. The strong positioning in the battery segment is underpinned by established partnerships, such as the one with PowerCo. In addition, in the first half of the year, IBU-tec received, among other things, a major order in the battery services segment from another large international corporation. For this company, IBU-tec will develop anode battery material. The order has a total volume in the low single-digit EUR million range and will be recognized as revenue in the current year. For months, IBU-tec has been seeing markedly increasing interest in its production capacity and battery materials expertise, particularly from international companies in the electromobility and stationary energy storage sectors.
