Detroit, Michigan (9th September 2026) – Horse Powertrain, a global leader in innovative and low-emission powertrain systems, today opened its new North American office in Detroit, Michigan. This is a significant milestone for Horse Powertrain, reflecting the company’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge technologies and solutions to the United States and its automakers.
The new North American office is strategically positioned in the heartland of the US automotive industry, predominantly catering to US clients. The office will house 32 new roles across a range of business functions, adding to the company’s regional facilities across Europe, China and South America.
Horse Powertrain specializes in the development and production of powertrain-agnostic technology for use by automotive brands, encompassing combustion engines, hybrid systems, transmissions, power electronics, and electric motors. Its pre-integrated powertrain systems dramatically reduce the complexity and capital burden faced by automakers, allowing automakers to quickly meet changing consumer demand, unlocking considerable capex savings and reducing the time-intensity of vehicle production.

To mark the opening of the office, Horse Powertrain held a ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), Detroit Regional Partnership (DRP), and Southfield City Council. Dignitaries in attendance included David Coulter (Executive, Oakland County), Ken Siver (Mayor, City of Southfield), along with a number of local business leaders.
