Hello Finland, EUROSPAR here! These are the four new EUROSPAR supermarkets that Tokmanni will open later this year

Later this year, new EUROSPAR supermarkets will open in connection with Tokmanni stores in Lehtikangas in Kajaani, Vanhakylä (Gammelby) in Loviisa, Tervaharju in Kemi, and Mäntsälä. Together, the Tokmanni stores and the EUROSPAR supermarkets form very comprehensive Tokmanni-EUROSPAR store entities in terms of product range. Tokmanni, which became the exclusive SPAR license holder in Finland last year, is continuing the renewal of its food departments selling fresh food to align them with the international SPAR grocery concept. Tokmanni’s next four EUROSPAR supermarkets will open in Lehtikangas in Kajaani, Vanhakylä (Gammelby) in Loviisa, Tervaharju in Kemi, and Mäntsälä. The opening celebrations will already take place this year. This will expand Tokmanni’s EUROSPAR network to ten locations by the end of the year.

Tokmanni is continuing the gradual conversion of its food departments into the SPAR world in those Tokmanni stores that already offer fresh food products.

Preparations for the conversion of the EUROSPAR supermarkets being built in Lehtikangas in Kajaani, Vanhakylä (Gammelby) in Loviisa, Tervaharju in Kemi, and Mäntsälä are currently underway, and these supermarkets are scheduled to open later this year, says Harri Koponen. He works as the Vice President, Store Network and Concept for Tokmanni Group’s operations in Finland.

“Our conversion work is most advanced in Lehtikangas in Kajaani, where we are currently building our SPAR Bakery baking station, for example. As autumn progresses, customers in Vanhakylä in Loviisa, Tervaharju in Kemi, and Mäntsälä will also start to see the EUROSPAR concept taking shape in their local stores. We look forward to sharing more details about the opening dates of these new EUROSPAR supermarkets later in the year as we get closer to the opening celebrations,” he says.

This year's EUROSPAR openings will bring the number of Tokmanni-EUROSPAR store entities operated by Tokmanni to ten. Earlier this year, Tokmanni celebrated the opening of EUROSPAR supermarkets in Järvenpää, Raatekangas in Joensuu, and Iisalmi. Last year, EUROSPAR supermarkets opened in Ylöjärvi, Masku, and Tornio.

Overall, the variety discount retailer operates 20 stores that also offer fresh food products, meaning that ten of them will still be serving customers under the Tokmanni brand at the start of next year*.

“We will continue to develop our SPAR store network going forward. More information about the first EUROSPAR supermarkets planned for next year will be announced at a later date,” Koponen says.

Tokmanni Group’s SPAR cooperation in brief:

• The cooperation began in January 2025 when Tokmanni Oy became the exclusive license holder of the SPAR brand in Finland.
• SPAR-branded grocery products have been available in each of the over 200 Tokmanni stores and in Tokmanni’s online store since spring 2025. In addition to food products, the SPAR product range includes, for example, hand and liquid soap, diapers, toothpaste, mouthwash and deodorants. The assortment will continue to expand.
• Tokmanni is gradually renewing the fresh food departments of its stores to the SPAR concept. Tokmanni currently operates six Tokmanni-EUROSPAR store entities, each comprising a Tokmanni store and a EUROSPAR supermarket (Ylöjärvi, Masku, Tornio, Järvenpää, Raatekangas in Joensuu, and Iisalmi). The number of Tokmanni-EUROSPAR store entities will increase to ten this year as EUROSPAR supermarkets open in Lehtikangas in Kajaani, Vanhakylä (Gammelby) in Loviisa, Tervaharju in Kemi, and Mäntsälä later this year. In addition, ten stores that also offer fresh food assortments will continue to serve customers under the Tokmanni brand for the time being*.
• In August 2026, Tokmanni Group signed an agreement with SPAR International to distribute SPAR-branded products to Dollarstore stores in Sweden. The first SPAR-branded products are expected to be available in Dollarstore later this year.

The EUROSPAR supermarket concept, operated by Tokmanni and introduced in Finland last year under the SPAR brand after a break of nearly twenty years, offers a diverse selection of groceries with an excellent price-quality ratio that meets customers’ weekly shopping need in a single trip.

Tokmanni Group’s store network continues to grow and renew

Tokmanni Group owns the Tokmanni variety discount retail chain as well as the Click Shoes shoe store chain and the Shoe House shoe store in Finland, the Dollarstore variety discount retail chain in Sweden, and the Big Dollar variety discount retail chain in Denmark. At the moment, six of the Tokmanni stores serve their customers as Tokmanni-EUROSPAR store entities.
