Getinge today announced that NAVA (Neurally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist) will be featured on a segment of Empowered, a Public Television (PTV) short documentary series, hosted by Meg Ryan.

In partnership with the Empowered team, Getinge showcased how NAVA is redefining ventilatory support in neonatal care. It will be featured in a national commercial airing on Fox Business Network, Wednesday, August 5, during prime time. Then beginning Monday, August 24, a featured segment will be distributed to more than 170 PTV stations nationwide.
One of the central goals of Empowered is education—to raise awareness and highlight transformative technologies and spark meaningful conversations across various industries, including healthcare.
“As a company, we are a leader in the Critical Care space, integrating smart, adaptive ventilation solutions that can help clinicians make the best decisions for their patients,” said Patty Fitch, President, Getinge North America. “Our message is to show how NAVA technology can offer life-changing support by way of personalized patient care.”
The featured segment airing in late August highlights why mechanical ventilation is so critical, the complexities involved in delivering it effectively, and how NAVA technology is helping improve this aspect of patient care. Getinge experts, as well as Kim Firestone, MSc, RRT, FAARC, FNAP, Director of Respiratory Care at Akron Children’s Hospital, will share their perspectives on NAVA in the featured segment.
“The Empowered story on NAVA shines a light on the extraordinary challenges of caring for critically ill infants and how innovative technologies can help clinicians deliver more personalized respiratory support—one breath at a time,” said Mark Burke, Getinge Sr. National Sales Director, Critical Care.
