Brisbane 7 October, 2026
Reference is made to Futura's announcement dated 18 August 2026, which noted that Nordic Trustee AS (the "Bond Trustee") had engaged Behre Dolbear Australia Pty Ltd ("BDA") to undertake an independent technical review of the Company's Fairhill and Wilton coal projects.
Futura Resources Limited ("Futura" or the "Company"), issuer of the Futura Resources Limited 13.125% senior secured USD 95,000,000 bonds 2026/2031 (ISIN NO0013698746), announces that BDA has completed its independent technical due diligence review, commissioned by the Bond Trustee, of the Company's Fairhill and Wilton coal projects. The principal findings are summarised below.
Independent Findings
BDA states "No current Red Flags identified" and identifies no "fatal flaws" in the planning. BDA also concluded that, from the perspective of the Nordic Bondholders, the coal resource, technical and market risks present in December 2025 remain the same or similar to the risks now. BDA describes the financial model as competent and comprehensive, while noting that it remains sensitive to production rates, yields, coal prices, exchange rates and costs.
BDA identified three medium-to-high-risk "Orange Flag" aspects in the five-year mine plan requiring ongoing management: performance of the FGX dry screening, timely approval of the Mt Stuart mining lease, and achievement of target production and unit operating costs. BDA notes that the development approval risk existed when Bondholders funded the project in January 2026.
