With a focus on small and emerging funds, Fund Launch Partners provides investors access to a diversified group of high-potential emerging managers across asset classes
Building on a successful Fund I, Fund Launch Partners is raising a $50 million second fund to invest in emerging private-market managers — a segment often overlooked by the largest GP stakes and seeding platforms.
The fund, known as Fund Launch Partners Fund II, has already held the first close of ~$30 million toward its $50M target. Rather than backing established firms with billions in assets under management, Fund Launch Partners focuses on smaller and emerging managers, typically at the earliest stages of firm formation.
The strategy is designed to give investors diversified exposure to the economics of multiple private market firms, including management company equity, carried interest, and direct fund participation.
A Different Corner of the GP Stakes Market
Most GP stakes platforms focus on mature alternative asset managers with significant assets already under management. Fund Launch Partners is taking a different approach: partnering earlier, when managers are still building the foundation of their firms.
The firm positions itself as a GP stakes and seeding platform for the emerging manager market — a segment that includes smaller private equity, venture, real estate, credit, and other alternative investment managers.
Fund Launch Partners currently has partnerships with managers across the United States and remains asset-class agnostic. That approach allows the firm to build a diversified portfolio across strategies, geographies, and underlying assets while concentrating on a specific type of opportunity: talented managers who may have strong investment ability but need help building a scalable fund management business.
Solving Two Core Problems in Fund Management
Building The Next Generation of Fund Managers
With Fund II, Fund Launch Partners is expanding its effort to build a platform around emerging alternative investment managers.
The firm’s broader goal is not simply to seed individual funds. It is to help managers launch, operate, and scale investment firms that can become long-term institutional platforms.
For emerging managers, that means support beyond capital. For investors, it means access to a diversified portfolio of private-market managers at an earlier stage than most traditional GP-stake strategies target.
