evroc, The European Cloud, today announced that Mattias Åström has been appointed a Council Member of the ECFR, a pan-European think tank dedicated to European foreign and security policy. Confirmed for a two-year term, Mattias was formally welcomed at the ECFR Annual Council Meeting in Vienna on June 17–18, 2026.
The appointment reflects how central digital sovereignty has become to Europe's strategic position. Questions once treated as technical, who controls critical infrastructure, where data resides, how AI is governed, are now matters of foreign and security policy. Delivering a sovereign cloud and AI stack from infrastructure to intelligence, evroc sits at the centre of that shift.

Together, members foster dialogue across Europe and bring a European perspective to national debates on the most pressing foreign policy challenges. As a Council Member, Åström will take part in ECFR's briefings and annual gatherings, bringing a sovereign technology perspective to the foreign policy debate.
