Q3 2026 pre-silent period notes
Before entering the silent period on 30 September 2026, Elisa reminds the market of publicly available information related to the previous quarter, with the following pre-silent notes.
Market environment:
- In the second quarter of 2026, competition intensity in the consumer mobile market returned to a normal level, which was also indicated by churn decreasing from over 20 per cent in the second half of the previous year to 17 per cent level, which is long-term Q2 average. In Q2 2026, the upward front book price trend continued. As a reminder, new mobile front book prices are reflected with a delay, as the majority of low price point fixed-term agreements will not expire until during the fourth quarter. The migration from mobile broadband to fibre continued.
Transformation programme:
- Progressing as planned. The majority of the savings were already visible from the first quarter of 2026. The announced gross OPEX saving of EUR 40 million will be implemented in full.
Accounting and adjustments:
- There were no material changes in the second quarter of 2026. One-offs during Q2 were EUR -5.1 million related to the transformation programme.
Outlook and guidance for 2026:
- Full-year revenue is estimated to be at the same level as or slightly higher than in 2025. Full-year comparable EBITDA is anticipated to be EUR 815–845 million. Capital expenditure is expected to be 12 per cent of revenue.
- The outlook and guidance assume that the economic and operating environment gradually improves during the year. It further assumes telecom service revenue growth of 0–2 per cent and international software services organic revenue growth over 5-10 per cent. Mobile service revenue is the main driver of telecom service growth.
Other items to note:
- As a reminder, in the Q2 2026 analyst call, management mentioned that it does not expect normal seasonality in the third quarter this year, and that the fourth quarter is expected to be better than the third quarter. The majority of fixed-term mobile service agreements will not expire until the fourth quarter.
- On 9 September 2026, Google announced new data center projects in Finland. This is Google’s largest investment in Europe and the largest single investment in Finland. The investment amounts to EUR 13 billion and will be carried out over two years. At the same time, it was announced that Elisa will expand its long-term cooperation with Google under a long-term agreement and build telecommunications connections to the new data centers.
