Drone Innovator Duke Robotics Receives $12 Price Target and Buy Rating From Wall Street Analyst (NASDAQ: DUKR)

Maxim Group has reiterated a 'Buy' rating and a $12 price target on Duke Robotics Corp. (NASDAQ: DUKR) in a report dated August 18, 2026, authored by analyst Matthew Galinko. This is relatively new coverage of the company. Maxim initiated that coverage on July 21, 2026 with the same Buy rating and the same $12 target. The shares closed yesterday's trading at $5.38.
The drone sector has been printing real orders. Red Cat Holdings (NASDAQ: RCAT) said this month that second-quarter revenue rose 527% from a year earlier, and that its Teal Drones unit advanced to Gauntlet II of the Pentagon's $1.1 billion Drone Dominance program. Ondas (NASDAQ: ONDS) took another U.S. Army order of more than $50 million under a $982 million lethal-unmanned contract. That is the demand picture. Duke is a smaller Nasdaq name already selling into the same two problems: a weapons drone in the field, and a grid that has to stay up.
Duke Robotics develops drone systems for work that is still mostly done by people in helicopters, or by soldiers who have to get close. Most of the names getting attention for drones this summer are chasing the next Pentagon program. Duke already has two commercial lines that are running, one on each side of that map, and the market has barely priced it.
Bird of Prey is a fully stabilized weapons drone. Duke designed the system so a remote weapon can hover, aim, and fire from the air without putting a soldier underneath it. Elbit Systems Land Ltd., a unit of Elbit Systems (NASDAQ: ESLT), markets it under the Bird of Prey name. The Israel Defense Forces have used it in the field. An August 2025 Israeli television report on the IDF's advanced drone units described the systems operating with surgical precision, identifying and neutralizing threats while keeping soldiers out of harm's way. That is not a demo reel. It is operational use with one of the few militaries that has been flying armed drones in a live war. Duke has already reported first royalty revenue from Elbit sales, which is the point where a development collaboration turns into a commercial line. In June, Elbit confirmed a new order, with deliveries expected later this year. Royalties to Duke follow when those systems are delivered and paid for, not when the order is announced.
That defense line is about to get a heavyweight CEO. Yiftach Kleinman is due to become CEO no later than September 8, 2026. He spent more than a decade at Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, one of Israel's leading defense contractors, including as Deputy General Manager for Subsidiaries, Mergers and Acquisitions in the Land and Naval Division. He then ran SpearUAV, an Israeli loitering-munitions company, and led it through a full sale to UVision in 2025. UVision is now reportedly preparing a multi-billion-dollar Nasdaq IPO. Those reports describe UVision, not Duke. An executive who just sold a defense startup into that kind of buyer does not typically take a CEO seat at a company without a serious vision behind it.
The civilian business is the insulator-cleaning drone. High-voltage insulators are the ceramic discs that keep a power line from shorting when they get dirty. The usual fix is to shut the line down or send a crew up in a helicopter. Duke's system does the work while the line stays live. That is a simple idea with a hard constraint: the grid cannot go dark, and the dirt still has to come off. Israel Electric Corporation, the country's main utility, has been using it as a commercial service. In March, IEC issued a purchase order that Duke says is expected to generate more than $1 million of revenue in 2026, mostly later in the year when the cleaning season is on, a step up from prior seasons. In June the company said the expanded cleaning season had started, with more field crews, a larger volume of insulators, and the second-generation cleaning system in the air. That is a named customer, on a national grid, in a season that is already running.
The same platform is being built to travel. Duke has started integrating a larger commercial-grade airframe so the cleaning work can run with more payload and longer flight time, the kind of capacity a bigger national grid would need. It also launched AEROTRACE, an AI-powered aerial monitoring system, so a utility is not only cleaning insulators but getting a look at the line. Those are the next rungs on a ladder that already has a paying customer on the first one.
Closing contracts with national-grid operators takes time. That wait is also the point: these contracts are significant. The Israeli work alone is expected to bring in more than $1 million in 2026, mostly later in the year when the cleaning season is on. Greece is a far larger market. The company says it is in advanced stages of its expansion into the Greek market. It has not reported a Greece contract yet. In the August 13 earnings release, Duke said it is in discussions in additional locations. Maxim's note looks through that timing and expects a pickup in second-half revenue from IEC and Elbit, with geographic expansion as how the cleaning business scales.
The company uplisted to the Nasdaq Capital Market on May 15, 2026, and closed a $9.2 million underwritten public offering around that listing. Three months later, a named desk initiated coverage, put a $12 target on the shares, and has now kept it. For a company this size, that is still under the radar. The louder drone names have the Pentagon headlines. Duke has a combat-used product, a utility contract, a Nasdaq listing, and a reiterated Maxim $12 target.
Duke is still a small company, and the work still has to land. The disclosed civilian contract sits with one utility. Defense royalties depend on Elbit delivering orders, which can slip. The 2026 IEC figure is still an expectation, not cash already in.

Behind that number is a Nasdaq drone company that already flies for a national utility, is already talking about Greece and other grids, and already takes royalties on a weapons drone Elbit is selling, at a moment when the rest of the drone sector is booking real orders. That is a setup that could leave Duke uniquely positioned, if the orders keep converting. It is worth watching in the coming months.
