Balance@Work is launched by Dr Louise Newson to ensure hormone health is on every employer’s agenda.
The launch coincides with the release of their new survey data this week, in which the majority of women say hormone-related symptoms stop them from performing their best at work.
Dr Louise Newson, Sunday Times bestselling author and hormone expert, today announces the launch of its new dedicated business Balance@Work ‘Hormone Health Working Well.’ The organisation is led by Managing Director Sarah Davies, who brings over ten years of menopause workplace education experience.
The launch coincides with the completion of a large workplace hormone health survey, involving more than 5,500 women. The findings, which will be released next week as part of Balance@Work's The Work You Don't See campaign, reveal the scale of the hidden impact hormone-related symptoms are having on employees, careers and organisations across the UK.
Hormone health has a significant impact on working life, from conditions such as PMDD and PCOS/PMOS to perimenopause and menopause affecting performance, retention and workplace culture. While awareness of menopause has grown considerably in recent years, many employers are now asking a different question: what changes after awareness?
Many organisations have introduced menopause policies or awareness sessions, yet managers still lack confidence, employees often don't know where to find appropriate support and hormone health remains largely absent from everyday workplace conversations.

The launch is accompanied by Balance@Work’s new workplace survey showing how hormone health is impacting performance, retention and workplace culture across the UK. As part of the organisation's The Work You Don’t See Campaign, the new survey data released next week will reveal the hidden impact of hormone related symptoms on workplaces across the UK, with data on how they affect women leaving the workplace and their career decisions.
"For too long, hormone health has been viewed primarily as a personal health issue. In reality, it's also a workforce issue. Employers are losing skills, experience and productivity without fully understanding why. Hormone health challenges should be keeping CEOs and CFOs awake at night. For a business employing around 1,000 people, even a modest improvement in productivity or retention could represent hundreds of thousands of pounds of value each year,” explains Sarah Davies.
