Diaverum launches RenalLab by d.ACADEMY to strengthen clinical leadership in renal care
Diaverum, a global leader in renal care and part of M42 Group, has launched RenalLab by d.ACADEMY, an immersive international learning experience held in Porto from 14–18 September 2026. The programme was designed for nephrologists and nurses with strong clinical expertise and the ambition to become future clinical leaders within the organisation.
RenalLab is delivered under d.ACADEMY, Diaverum’s global learning and development platform dedicated to building clinical excellence, strengthening capabilities and supporting continuous professional growth across the organisation.
More than a traditional course, RenalLab was designed to create a collaborative community of passionate professionals who are committed to improving patient outcomes and shaping the future of renal care. Each edition will focus on a different clinical theme, giving participants the opportunity to deepen their expertise in priority areas of kidney care.
The 2026 edition of RenalLab focused on peritoneal dialysis (PD), covering key aspects of PD care, from clinical excellence and patient training to research, innovation and the use of AI and data. Participants explored best practices, discussed real-world case studies and exchanged experiences with peers and leading experts. Through interactive sessions, practical workshops and multidisciplinary discussions, the programme strengthened clinical expertise and professional networks, enabling participants to bring new insights back into daily clinical practice.
Peritoneal dialysis is a home-based treatment option that can offer suitable patients greater flexibility in their daily lives. By supporting more personalised kidney care, it plays an important role in Diaverum’s vision of empowering patients to live fulfilling lives.
The programme was developed in partnership with Hospital de Santo António and the University of Porto, one of Portugal's leading centres in nephrology and renal replacement therapies. This collaboration enriched the programme by bringing valuable academic and clinical perspectives, as well as direct exposure to advanced practices in PD.
The programme’s faculty included nephrologists, surgeons and nurses from Hospital de Santo António, Diaverum and M42 medical teams. RenalLab was delivered as a residential course at Hospital de Santo António, ICBAS, in Porto, Portugal.
With participants joining from Brazil, France, Germany, Hungary, Morocco, Poland, Romania, the UAE, the UK and Uruguay, RenalLab provided a truly international setting for knowledge-sharing, peer exchange and the development of a stronger clinical community across Diaverum.
