Former Checkin.com CEO and fintech executive joins Cubeia to drive global commercial growth and expand operator partnerships
Cubeia, the Sweden-based provider of turnkey crypto casino solutions, has announced the appointment of Christian Karlsson as its new Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), effective from August 3, 2026.
Karlsson joins the company with more than a decade of experience in commercial leadership across fintech, identity verification and iGaming. Most recently, he served as Acting CEO at Checkin.com between 2024 and 2025, following six years as Chief Commercial Officer. During his time at Checkin.com, he also led GetID, the group’s biometric identity verification division, as CEO.
“When I met the team and got to know Cubeia, it quickly became clear that there is something special about the company. Cubeia has had several outstanding years, delivering exceptional growth while building a strong and profitable business. At the same time, I believe there is still tremendous potential ahead. The opportunity to help lead the commercial organisation through its next phase of growth is incredibly exciting. I look forward to getting to know our customers, partners, and colleagues, and to working together to build an even stronger Cubeia,” said Karlsson.
Prior to Checkin.com, Karlsson held senior commercial positions at Gaming Innovation Group as Head of Client Operations, as well as at LeoVegas, where he oversaw payments and fraud strategy as Head of Payments and Fraud.
“Christian has built and scaled commercial and platform businesses through IPOs, market expansion, and industry change — and he knows what operators need from a technology partner because he's sat on that side of the table,” said Kim Sandström, Interim CEO of Cubeia. “As we grow Cubeia's footprint with operators, his experience across payments, compliance, and partnerships makes him exactly the right person to lead our revenue strategy.”
In his new role, Karlsson will oversee Cubeia’s global revenue strategy, collaborating with product and technical teams to support operators launching, scaling and maintaining compliance across new and existing markets.
