Bonava starts production of 500 rental apartments with a property value of SEK 1.3 billion

With the building permit now having gained legal force, Bonava starts the construction of 500 rental apartments in Norrbodahöjden in Upplands-Bro. The project has a property value of approximately SEK 1.3 billion. As previously announced, the rental housing project has been sold to Slättö, which will provide ongoing financing throughout the construction process. The project will be recognised in Bonava’s financial statements as started and sold in the third quarter.

- The start of construction on Norrbodahöjden marks an important step toward meeting demand and providing more rental apartments in the Stockholm region. The project combines an attractive location with ambitious sustainability commitments. Norrbodahöjden is an expansive area of Kungsängen, with good access to shopping, service, nature and public transportation. The addition of new rental apartments in Norrbodahöjden will support a broader and more diverse housing supply in the area, catering for different groups of people and stages in life. The housing units, which will achieve energy class B and meet the requirements for certification under the Nordic Swan Ecolabel 4 standard, will use materials, such as concrete, that reduce the climate footprint.

The Norrbodahöjden project will generate positive cash flow and earnings on an ongoing basis and is aligned with Bonava’s strategy of increasing its share of rental housing transactions. H2 Entreprenad is the contractor. Bonava starts construction of rental housing projects only when both a buyer and a contractor have been contracted, ensuring that the contractor is fully aligned and familiar with the project’s design and production requirements.

Before the summer, Bonava completed two strategic land acquisitions in the Stockholm region encompassing a total of approximately 600 housing units: 100 in Skogås and 500 in Stora Ursvik. The projects are intended for rental apartments, with the ambition to commence production within the next 12 months.
