BOLOGNA AIRPORT: 1.1 MILLION PASSENGERS IN JUNE (+2.5%)
For the third consecutive month, over one million people travelled, despite complex international scenarios Bologna Airport continues to grow. In June, despite uncertainties in the international geopolitical landscape, the number of people travelling through Marconi exceeded one million – precisely 1,095,281, an increase of 2.5% compared to the same month in 2025. This is the third consecutive month in 2026 that passenger numbers have surpassed one million.
The greatest increase was seen in passengers on international flights, reaching 813,254, an increase of 2.9% compared to June 2025. Passengers on domestic flights also grew, numbering 282,027, an increase of 1.3% compared to the same month in 2025.
Air movements in June were 7,644, an increase of 2.3% compared to 2025, while air cargo transported was 3,712 tonnes, a decrease of -1.2% compared to the same month in 2025.
Friday, June 26th, with 40,412 people in transit, was the busiest day in June and in the last six months.
The preferred destinations in June were Catania, Tirana, and Barcelona (as in the previous six months), followed by Cagliari, Paris CDG, Palermo, Brindisi, Istanbul, Bucharest OTP, Madrid, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London LHT, Olbia, Munich, and Vienna, to name only those that exceeded 20,000 travellers in the month.
In the first six months of the year, total passengers at Marconi were 5,485,241, an increase of 3.6% compared to the corresponding period in 2025. Movements in the January-June period were 39,086, an increase of 2.8%, while air cargo transported was 20,912 tonnes, a decrease of 6.3% compared to 2025.

Guglielmo Marconi Airport of Bologna, classified as a "strategic airport" for the Centre-North area in the National Airport Plan prepared by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, recorded 11.1 million passengers in 2025, ranking as the seventh Italian airport by passenger numbers (Source: Assaeroporti – Aeroporti2030).
