Eco Buildings Group PLC
("Eco Buildings" or the "Company")
Board Changes
Eco Buildings Group plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Graham Stevens as an independent Non-Executive Director and Chris Gilbert as an Executive Director of the Company, with effect from 25 August 2026.
The Company also announces that Ahmet Shala will step down from the Board as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 25 August 2026.
Graham Stevens brings extensive industry and commercial experience to the Board, accumulated over a long career as a public company director and senior executive. The Board believes that his experience, independent perspective and commercial judgement will provide valuable additional expertise and strengthen the Board as the Company enters the next stage of its development.
Graham will also assume the role of Chair of the Audit Committee with effect from his appointment.
Graham has built a career spanning retail, consumer goods, manufacturing, technology, online gaming and oilfield services. He began his career at J. Sainsbury plc, progressing from its graduate training programme to Buyer and Executive Assistant to the CEO. He subsequently held senior leadership and co-ownership roles across a number of businesses, including as Managing Director of Jeeves of Belgravia and Lilliman & Cox, where he led a successful turnaround and subsequent sale to Sketchley Group plc, and as Managing Director and shareholder of The Law Trading Company, which became a leading footwear supplier to Marks & Spencer and Next before its sale to Fii Group plc. He later joined the main board of Fii Group plc, also assuming Finance Director responsibilities, before leading a management buyout of The Law Trading Company and its subsequent profitable sale to Beltpacker plc.
Since the early 2000s, his career has increasingly focused on public company roles, corporate finance and governance. He advised Plexus International on its fundraising and AIM admission in 2005 before joining the board of Plexus Holdings plc, where he served as Finance Director for almost 20 years until July 2024. Alongside his executive career, he has held a number of non-executive directorships, including NRX Global Corp plc, where he was an early investor, helped coordinate fundraising and its AIM admission, and served on the Audit and Remuneration Committees; and NetPlay TV plc, where he served from 2003 as a Non-Executive Director and subsequently chaired both the Audit and Remuneration Committees before Netplay was acquired by Betsson Ab in 2017. His experience combines operational leadership, business turnarounds, M&A, fundraising, AIM admissions, financial management and company governance.
Chris Gilbert has a long-standing relationship with the Company and brings to the Board extensive knowledge of its business, operations and development.
Chris was a director and Chief Executive Officer of Fox Marble Holdings plc, the Company's predecessor, from 2011 until June 2023, having led the business from its admission to AIM through to the period preceding the Company's reverse takeover of Eco Buildings. He has since acted as an adviser to the Board. Over the course of his relationship with the Company, Chris has developed a detailed understanding of its activities, strategy and the markets in which it operates. The Board believes that this depth of Company-specific knowledge and experience will be particularly valuable as the Company continues to execute its strategy and pursue its objectives.
The appointment of Chris as an Executive Director will further strengthen the executive representation on the Board and provide continuity between the Company's existing operations and its future strategic development.
Ahmet Shala will step down from his position as a Non-Executive Director after over three years of service to the Company.
The Board would like to thank Ahmet for his significant contribution, commitment and support during his tenure. His experience and advice have been greatly valued by the Board and the wider Company.
The Company is pleased that it will continue to benefit from Ahmet's knowledge and experience following his departure from the Board. Ahmet will maintain his relationship with the Company as a member of an advisory board which the Company intends to establish in due course.
Don Nicolson, Chair of Eco Buildings Group plc, commented:
"On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Ahmet for his contribution and commitment to the Company during his time as a Non-Executive Director. We are very pleased that our relationship with Ahmet will continue through the advisory board that we intend to establish, allowing the Company to continue to benefit from his experience and insight.
"I am also delighted to welcome Graham and Chris to the Board. Graham brings a wide range of experience and a strong combination of commercial judgement, governance and independent perspective. We look forward to his contribution to the Board and, in particular, to his leadership of the Audit Committee.
"Chris has had a long-standing relationship with the Company and possesses extensive knowledge of our business and operations. His deep understanding of the Company, its history and its opportunities will be a significant asset to the Board as we continue to develop and execute our strategy."
