9 September 2026 - ReFuels N.V. (ticker: REFL), a leading European supplier of renewable biomethane (Bio-CNG) fuel for the decarbonisation of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), today published Bio-CNG station data for August 2026.
* CNG Fuels dispensed 5,598 tonnes of Bio-CNG from 16 public-access refuelling stations, up 7% year-on-year * Average daily dispensed volume was 181 tonnes, up from 168 tonnes in August 2025 * An average of 2,268 vehicles refuelled daily across the station network, up 9% year-on-year * Prices for Renewable Transport Fuel Certificates (RTFCs) averaged 19.1 pence and traded at a maximum of 20.6 pence during the month
"The number of HGVs refuelling at our 16 stations across the UK continues to expand steadily as fleet operators take delivery of new Bio-CNG vehicles with lower fuel costs and emissions. Growth in dispensed volumes reflects seasonally softer demand and utilisation during the August peak summer season. Looking forward, commercial activity remains high, with a significant number of ongoing customer trials and high quoting activity related to larger potential fleet orders," said Philip Fjeld, CEO and co-founder of ReFuels.
CNG Fuels experiences consistently strong interest in Bio-CNG across UK fleet operators, reiterating that 8 - 10 demonstration vehicles are continuously deployed on trials and that more than 100 fleets are still waiting to demo 6x2 Bio-CNG vehicles.
Prices for Renewable Transport Fuel Certificates (RTFCs) averaged 19.1 pence in August, compared to 24.9 pence in August 2025. The lower price reflects a narrower spread between biodiesel and fossil diesel as diesel prices have increased from the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. ReFuels has, as previously communicated, secured the expected biomethane requirement for the 2026 obligation year and sold the corresponding RTFCs forward for later delivery, providing margin and profitability visibility. RTFCs are awarded at a rate of 3.8 certificates per kilogram of Bio-CNG dispensed and sold to fuel suppliers with a blending obligation under the UK's Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) scheme.
CNG Fuels supplies biomethane through a growing network of refuelling stations, currently comprising 16 public-access Bio-CNG stations strategically located along major UK trucking routes. Three additional high-capacity stations are currently under construction. Magor in South Wales is set to open in October, while new stations in Swindon, South-West England, and Carlisle, North-West England, are also under construction. The three stations are expected to increase network capacity to more than 14,000 HGVs per day by mid-2027.
ReFuels provides monthly operational updates, normally released within ten working days after the end of each month.
