Barfresh Receives USDA Re-Approval of $2.4 Million Grant Following Updated Facility Design, Equipment and Installation Requirements

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 08, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Barfresh Food Group Inc. (the “Company” or “Barfresh”) (Nasdaq: BRFH), a provider of frozen, ready-to-blend and ready-to-drink beverages, today announced that its previously awarded $2.4 million USDA grant has received final re-approval following completion of an updated facility design and equipment and installation requirements for its new 44,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Defiance, Ohio. The re-approval clears the way for the Company to access grant proceeds to begin work on the new 44,000-square-foot manufacturing facility.

The grant was originally approved based on plans in place before Barfresh’s acquisition of Arps Dairy. Following the acquisition, Barfresh finalized an updated design and construction and installation budget for the facility to reflect its own manufacturing requirements, a step the USDA required Barfresh to complete before it would re-approve use of the funds. With that process now complete, Barfresh has now cleared the final hurdle with the USDA on the approved construction, equipment purchases and installation to access the $2.4 million from the USDA. The grant proceeds must be used by the end of 2026, which lines up with the Company’s planned schedule.
