Aventus Full-Flight Winds Selected for Next-Generation FMS Development
AVTECH Sweden AB (publ) (“AVTECH”) announces that a major aircraft manufacturer has entered into an 18-month agreement with AVTECH to use the Aventus Full‑Flight Winds service in its flight-test campaigns for next‑generation aircraft systems. The agreement began in August 2026 and has a total value of less than SEK 0.3 million.
A major aircraft manufacturer has selected AVTECH’s Aventus Full-Flight Winds service as part of its next-generation Flight Management System (FMS) development, providing tailored, high-resolution wind and temperature data directly to the FMS across all phases of flight: climb, cruise and descent.
The primary role of the service is to optimize the flight path by supplying the FMS with accurate, real-time weather data, helping its built-in optimization functions, including Top of Descent (TOD) calculations, level selections, speed targets, and fuel and time estimates, perform as intended.
Aventus runs automatically in the background and can also respond to manual pilot requests. By replacing or complementing manual wind entry with a standardized uplink, the service provides updated information without adding workload to the flight deck.
The aircraft manufacturer will use high-quality Aventus wind uplinks in its flight-test environment to support the development, verification and validation of next-generation FMS functionality. Aventus will provide standardized, repeatable wind and temperature data to support the evaluation of flight-path accuracy, fuel efficiency, environmental performance and advanced software features that depend on accurate atmospheric inputs.
