Appointment of Non-Executive Directors

The Board of Saga plc (the Board), the UK's specialist in products and services for people over 50, is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Non-Executive Directors.

Emma Woods brings substantial consumer-facing executive and non-executive experience across hospitality, leisure, retail and direct-to-consumer businesses. Her career has centred on customer growth, brand differentiation and experience-led propositions, including as Chief Executive Officer of Wagamama and in senior marketing and digital roles at Merlin Entertainments, Pizza Express and Unilever. Her previous Non-Executive Director roles include ABBA Voyage, Huel, Tortilla Mexican Grill plc and The Gym Group plc. She is currently a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee of Great Portland Estates plc, Chair of Ancient+Brave and a Trustee at Breast Cancer Now.

Justin Platt brings current public company CEO experience and senior commercial, marketing and operational leadership across leisure, hospitality and consumer sectors. He is Chief Executive Officer of Marston's PLC and previously spent 12 years at Merlin Entertainments, most recently as Chief Strategy Officer, following earlier senior commercial and marketing roles at AstraZeneca, Kellogg's, PZ Cussons and GlaxoSmithKline. His experience includes strategic transformations and driving growth at established consumer-facing brands, with a focus on guest experience, generating demand , and using technology and data-to guide decisions.

Emma has joined the Board with immediate effect and Justin will join on 11 January 2027. The Board will review the composition of its committees and will announce any changes in due course.

Emma Woods was a director of Wagamama Finance Limited, Wagamama Newco Limited, Mabel Mezzco Limited, Mabel Midco Limited and Mabel Topco Limited. These companies were subsequently liquidated following the refinancing of The Restaurant Group PLC (now the Restaurant Group Limited), which completed its acquisition of Wagamama in December 2018.
