American Fusion Inc. (OTCQB: AMFN) Reports Continued Texatron™ Testing Results and Progress Toward D–³He Fusion Conditions
SOUTHLAKE, Texas, Aug. 27, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- American Fusion Inc. (OTCQB: AMFN) (“American Fusion” or the “Company”), developer of the proprietary Texatron™ Fusion Engine™, announced continued progress in its Texatron™ development and testing program under the direction of Chief Technology Officer Dr. John E. Brandenburg and the American Fusion technical team. The Company is providing an updated summary of the calculations and testing observations associated with its effort to create the plasma conditions required for deuterium–helium-3 (D–³He) fusion.
The Texatron™ is being developed around extremely powerful, short-duration electromagnetic pulses designed to create three fundamental fusion conditions simultaneously: extreme plasma temperature, extreme plasma pressure and density, and sufficient confinement time. American Fusion reported that its team has continued repeatable magnetic-confinement testing and has achieved peak confinement pressures of approximately 100,000 atmospheres. The Company’s next objective is to continue developing and characterizing the temperature, density and confinement conditions necessary to progress toward D–³He fusion ignition and, ultimately, net energy gain.

Texatron’s Approach to D–³He Fusion
American Fusion is pursuing D–³He fusion, in which deuterium and helium-3 nuclei fuse to produce energetic charged particles. The Company’s Texatron™ architecture is based on pulsed magnetic compression rather than conventional steady-state magnetic confinement. The objective is to compress and heat the plasma for extremely short periods, potentially allowing the required fusion conditions to be created during each pulse.
For the current analysis, American Fusion evaluated two Texatron™ geometries:
- An 11-inch chamber, associated with the Company’s approximately 500 kW development model, utilizing an approximately 25.4 mm (1-inch) plasma-column diameter.
- A 23-inch chamber, associated with the Company’s approximately 5 MW development model, utilizing an approximately 50.8 mm (2-inch) plasma-column diameter.
For the calculations summarized below, plasma length is approximated by the circumference of the respective chamber, and peak confinement is modeled at one microsecond.
Target: Approximately 700 Million Degrees Kelvin
The analysis evaluates a target plasma temperature of approximately 60 keV, equivalent to roughly 700 million degrees Kelvin. At temperatures in this range, D–³He fusion reactions can occur at significant rates. American Fusion’s calculations combine this temperature target with a peak plasma pressure of approximately 100,000 atmospheres and an assumed one-microsecond peak confinement interval.
Dr. Brandenburg emphasized, however, that reaching approximately 700 million K — or achieving 100,000 atmospheres independently — would not by itself demonstrate D–³He ignition. True fusion ignition requires a sufficient combination of temperature, plasma density and energy-confinement time, while simultaneously overcoming radiation, transport and other plasma-energy losses. This requirement is one of the reasons American Fusion is developing its proprietary high-energy pulsed magnetic-compression approach.
500 kW and 5 MW Texatron™ Scaling Analysis
One of the potentially important findings from the Company’s analysis is the scaling difference between the two Texatron™ geometries. The calculated plasma volume of the 11-inch configuration is approximately 445 cubic centimeters, compared with approximately 3,720 cubic centimeters for the 23-inch configuration. Accordingly, the larger configuration provides approximately 8.36 times the modeled plasma volume.

The reaction, energy and instantaneous-power figures above are calculations based upon the stated Texatron™ dimensions, geometries and assumed plasma conditions. They are not measurements of actual fusion output, net energy gain or continuous electrical output, and they should not be interpreted as evidence that fusion ignition has been achieved.
Why the Larger Texatron™ Could Matter
If both configurations ultimately achieve equivalent plasma temperature, pressure, density and confinement time, the Company’s calculations indicate that the 23-inch configuration could theoretically support approximately 8.36 times the number of D–³He reactions and gross fusion energy per pulse because of its substantially greater plasma volume.
Size alone, however, does not create ignition. The fundamental fusion challenge is represented by the relationship among density, temperature and confinement time (nTτ) — a relationship commonly referred to as the fusion triple product. Under equivalent plasma conditions, both Texatron™ sizes would have approximately the same triple product. The larger Texatron’s potential advantage is the significantly greater quantity of reacting plasma available at those conditions.
Magnetic Confinement and Texatron’s Pulsed Architecture
At a plasma pressure of approximately 100,000 atmospheres, a simplified magnetic-pressure calculation corresponds to approximately 160 Tesla at a plasma beta of one. American Fusion cautions that this calculation does not mean the Texatron™ requires a conventional 160-Tesla external magnet.
Unlike fusion approaches dependent upon large fixed or superconducting magnet systems, the Texatron™ is being developed as a pulsed electromagnetic plasma system in which powerful electromagnetic energy creates and manipulates magnetic fields during the compression sequence. Accordingly, actual Texatron™ operating requirements depend upon the device’s magnetic geometry, plasma current, field amplification, compression ratio, pulse characteristics and other engineering parameters.
Testing Program Continues to Advance
American Fusion also reported progress in setting up its new temporary assembly and development space. The Company said the facility is coming together as the team prepares for the next stages of Texatron™ experimentation. As part of that effort, a new portable vacuum chamber was delivered to the new facility on August 26, 2026. The equipment will support the Company’s continuing experimental program as American Fusion expands its testing capabilities and prepares for subsequent Texatron™ configurations.

The Next Scientific Milestone
American Fusion said the next phase of its analysis will focus on establishing increasingly precise D–³He ignition targets rather than relying on any single pressure or temperature measurement. The Company intends to evaluate the pressure and plasma-density requirements associated with approximately one-microsecond, and longer, confinement across a temperature range of approximately 50–200 keV. The analysis is expected to incorporate D–³He fusion production together with bremsstrahlung radiation and other principal plasma-energy losses.
This work should allow the team to compare its experimental results — including its reported 100,000-atmosphere compression capability — against increasingly rigorous requirements for self-heating and ignition.
